The life leech on Crest of Perandus and the high life regen on Blood Dance should give it full life most of the time. If not, use minion life flasks if necessary.

With the guardian not disappeaing via instance change or log out, I imagine it would be quite the monster given it's hp pool is big enough to tank some of the bigger hits in this game.

Well, anyway, the setup can be done for ~5 Ex+ but it might be worth it having this thing till the end of your character career (or if in HC till your death lol).

Guardian is not snapshot, so I really doubt that any summoner will use/waste 6L on it, when spectres/zombies are superior in every way.

You aren't using the 6l as a part of it... The 6l is there to support the Animate Guardian gem. The only expensive part of this setup is the helmet to get the Facebreakers going, if you can use jewelleries with it you don't even need the helmet. Then it becomes way cheaper.

Unarmed for life! (although I do like maces too recently)
