No, the replies aren't trolling you, but they certainly are of the point that while the WOW gear and equipment may work well with that extravagant, gaudy art style, implementing a LESS cartoonish, darker version with the same visual style would take away from what makes the PoE environment so appealing. The simple-yet-detailed approach of the gear within this game makes it feel more genuine and the transition from your character to the rest of the stationary environment is quite well blended.
In other words, Hell no!!! Are you kidding?!? This is the worst idea of all time!!!! |

To the OP. I wouldn't expect anything really approaching those sorta of armor visuals in PoE. They simply don't fit the art style of the game. However, visuals are being worked on constantly. Recently the helms underwent a bit of an overhaul, creating a steady flow of non repeating visuals for helm types. I'm hoping this is also done for the remainder of the armor and weapons. With such a large number of different choices, I'm sure you will be able to find SOMETHING you like the look of. Once you do, there is just the simple matter of doing a skin transfer...
