Cross Realm PvE?
I have a question regarding something i saw today. After having some issues with a quest i went to reset the map and it showed the location as Singapore (i did not create the party). I am currently playing on the Americas server, is this normal?

There's only one realm.

" Just so i understand this completely. Players from Singapore, Europe and America are currently playing together in beta? Why is there a gateway list? Last edited by CylonVR#0111 on Jan 17, 2013, 1:26:20 PM

AFAIK, they have regional servers so you get a better ping, but those regional servers all 'talk' to each other to maintain a single game world. Kinda like how Steam has regional download servers, but you can still play and chat with people from all around the world.

The gateway servers are there to reduce ping.
As an example: If you play on Europe and enter a zone as the first person. That zone will be hosted on a server in Europe. That means that any person joining you in that specific zone will be playing on a Europe server regardless of what gateway he/she selected in the start up screen. So that means that someone who plays on the American servers and has a ping of 34 and he joins your game. He will obviously get higher ping since he plays on a Europe server for that specific zone (will be around 200~300 I guess?). It works the other way around as well. But these gateways make sure that whenever you play solo you always have the lowest ping possible. Its just a nice niece that you have the opportunity to play with the whole world if you want to but you will have a big chance that you will be playing on a remote server for that specific party/zone and have higher ping then you are used to when you play on your home server. |

" I am on Europe gateway but when i create(solo) instance is it every time on America. Why? I have lags and desync. But my internet is ok, i checked and other games run without problem. Can i change it somehow? Last edited by Fenriss#6547 on Nov 15, 2013, 1:55:56 PM
