Which Passive Skills get passed to minions, and which don't?
burning, freeze or chill:
If one of my minions causes one of my enemies to Ignite, freeze or chill, and I have passive skills that improve burning damage, freeze or chill effects, do those passive skills "work" when the burning damage, freeze or chill was caused by my minion instead of by a spell that was directly cast by my character itself (such as by me casting fireball)? damage: What about passive skills that increase spell damage, or other forms of attack damage, do those also improve spells or damage done by my minions? armor: What about passive skills that improve armor... if I'm using Necromatic Aegis to give my shield to my pets, does that mean that all my passive skills that improve "armor" (any kind of armor) will cause my pet's to receive additional armor benefit from the shield? Shields: What about other shield passives, such as Shield Block Recovery passives, or Additional Chance to Block passives, or passives that improve "overall defenses" from shields, do those passive skills get passed to my minions if I'm using Necromatic Aegis? |

Also... if burning, freeze or chill caused by my minions does NOT benefit from my passive skills, then let me ask it another way...
IF the attack was performed by a minion of mine, but the burning was a result of a fire aura from my character, such as the Anger Gem, then does the burning damage get increased by passives skills of mine that increase burning damage? Scenarios: Example #1: minions + Anger Gem = burning damage. Would this burning damage get increased by my passive skills, since it came from my Anger Gem, even though the attack that initiated it was a melee attack from one of my zombies? Example #2: fire spectre + nothing = burning damage. Would this burning damage get increased by my passive skills in burning damage, even if I wasn't using a fire aura or anything? |

the only passives which affect minions are:
minion damage minion life minion instability necromatic aegis and of course the ones that give you minions. everything else affects you, not your minions |

well the increase to fire damage affects YOUR anger gem which is affecting your minions so that should work.

What about minion + fire aura? Will the burning damage get increased by my passive skill in burning damage, if it was caused by my minion but with the help of my fire damage aura?

Is there any way to test or verify that the burning damage passive skill is working? I hate to invest in something and then "hope" it works...

@bouldergore: You're talking about "fire damage". I'm talking about "burning damage". Like when the enemies catches of fire for a few seconds and takes damage over time. This burning damage is being caused as a result of my fire damage aura, as a result of my minions melee attacks. I have no doubt that my fire damage passives would improve my fire damage aura. But I'm lacking total confidence that my BURNING damage passives are affecting the burning damage caused by my pets, even though my fire aura is involved. I'd like to be able to verify it somehow that it is working.

@Asmosis: So passive skills that improve equipped shields will NOT pass to minions even though I'm giving my shield to my minions through necromatic aegis? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. But either way, are you sure about this? Can anyone else confirm this for 100% certainty?
