1.0.1 Patch Notes

The proposed nerf with required level sounds rushed. Have you really thought this through? Swinging from too good, to too weak, is not a good change. A down side is good, but please make the downside controllable. Let people work around it if they strive to make codt work in their build.

I believe the better way is to introduce mana use, instead of the required level thing. People who want a quick codt proc will have to take blood magic, eldrith battery, give up an aura, take plenty of mana nodes, or get mana on gear etc etc. Not free any more.

Proc levels can be kept as is, but make codt use mana when it activate linked skills. If there is not enough mana, codt will not active! At early level you can have a high mana multiplier, which get reduced at higher levels.

What about just a straight up "-5 levels to linked skills" which goes to -4 at level 4, -3 at level 8... to 0 at level 20 etc.

Then its giving people choice. Its two sockets to be casting a level 15 molten shell or 1 socket, cast it yourself for level 20 or dont bother with it etc etc...

Then you can bypass this if you want with empower etc but you are also empowering your CoDT.

At the minute this nerf to it has totally ruined it from a defense standpoint. I started looking into leveling CoDT so high and enduring cry and molten shell so high and see if i can make it work bla bla.

In the end decided it wasnt worth the sockets i gave it anymore and changed my build.

I will now just cast enduring cry myself and give up on molten shell.

I think my solution is so much more middle ground than "hey guys, insane gem everyone wants? Ha... now its that shit one no one wants! LOL!!!"

Level requirement isnt the same a lvl of a gem.
CwDt has a lvl req of 31, wich makes it relatively simple to align the supported gems, most spells and especially the most used enduring cry (lvl 5 EC gem has the lvl req 31) wont be as hard to adabt as most ppl expect.
CwDt is OP, we all know it.

Also some ppl seem not to understand the cooldown change, 250ms is nothing, its a 1/4 of 1sec, wich game wise is very fast, it has been implemented to avoid auto kamikaze loops with reflect dmg and wont really impact much otherwise since we still can have a quick cast output every quarter second.

The CoDT is still viable. I used it before the nerf and i am still using it. Its not as strong as it used to be but its still good imo. And for those who say that it screws over molten shell and enduring cry may i suggest just casting the skill yourself.I mean it was never really an issue before the introducing of the CoDT gem so why is it an issue now? My guess is that players got way too lazy :P

I have a character who needs to have his 7 endurance charges and warlords mark at all times to survive dangerous mobs. Instead of the CoDT gem i used faster casting and it works fine. I actually didnt want to use the CoDT gem in my build cause i could cast my skills in the middle of the fight quickly enough without any risk of dying. So its not a nerf its more of a balance change. Just adapt its not that hard.

At least for me I didn't use molten shell before, as it takes quite a while to cast, and if I am inside a group as a melee, I cant just stand for ~1 second casting something for protection, I would be dead by the time molten shell was up. Cast On Damage Taken made it possible to use Molten Shell, I can't use a high level of Molten Shell if I at the same time has to loose about 75% of my life (high level Cast on Damage Taken) before it goes off.

Than use faster casting or have a way of getting out of the fight for a recast of the skill. The game offers you so many choices with problems of your build. I currently have my CoDT about lvl 7 i think and i get 1 endurance charge for every 4 mobs on the screen nad it procs at the 900 dmg mark. In merciless you take that 900 damage very often and it procs quite often i still have my 5 endurance charges almost all of the time.
i love this game. i really do but now again my 4th char that i want to be my main was nerfed to the ground again. i level 4 chars to 65 and as i hit the point where i maybe could go maps my char build was nerfed so hard i could not play it. i mean WTF? i already spend some money on the game because i do love it but as it is now i am going to stop playing because i dont want to do the same shit again.
So can we get a rollback for RIP'd characters in the hour since the patch since the Carrion Queens were hitting way too damned hard?
cast on hit gem stopped working after the patch :(
Carrion Queen damage seems bugged after patch
Be the hope of humanity
