Today's alpha realm patch, one week turbo race results and supporter pack shipping update
i can imagine a "30 seconds auto mute" when mentioning "the other game" would prevent alot of noise as this was the most discussed topic earlier this year and will be brought up again in ob.
i'm already thinking about autoit scripts which automatically enters the answers for the most frequently asked questions and of course "this game is not diablo 3, it's called path of exile" and "no this company doesn't have a multimillion dollar background to satisfy your desires". age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" Actually, not really. She's often just as absent and easily distracted as I am, so we're very good at tolerating each other's 'games', whatever they might be. :) I'm a lucky dude like that. Although I have stopped discussing the day-to-day affairs of moderation with her. I figured out, eventually, that it was like bringing work home with me at the end of the day. Not cool. ___ About auto-muting: ick. ew. no. :) New chat UI: Probably not for a bit. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

" indeed. " try telling the mod stories or explaining the game mechanics at bed time, works for me. " eh, was kinda joking. forgot the smiley though, dang ... age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" I found a German-language site titled "Arschlochdichte im Forum" and hit translate; I got "Asshole density in the Forum," which appears to be a perfect match for what was being discussed. "I'm counting the days until OB, and for me, it can't come quickly enough. Every time I log on to this site, I hope and pray we get a date for the OB. Yes, I do want it to be as polished as possible, but more than that, I want to be able to actually play the darn thing. I'm really tired of looking at my Level 3 Ranger up in the left corner, knowing I won't be able to play with her again until the OB. Oh, sure, I can log in and play right now if I wanted to (I did reach level 3, after all), but once the OB is launched, all my charactes will be wiped, and I'll have to start over from scratch. I don't want that. I want to start from scratch and keep playing, knowing I can play for years and never suffer a character wipe ever again. Just because the OB launches, it doesn't mean the game is finished. The game will continue to grow, and they will keep polishing it for years after the actual release. But they won't wipe the characters after OB, and that's why I'm waiting. As soon as I can keep my characters, I'll be stuck in the game for a really long time. :) "And that's how you die properly, sailor boy."

If you dont want/like to 'loose' progress, to redo/replay in the same or a different way than before...
you should think about participating in a game that's based on events and leagues of limited time spans at all, and by all means stay away from any kind of hardcore. ^^ There will be game rules, that are functionally comparable to the ladder resets in D2... 'default' may be not more than a (kind of legacy) non-ladder league within some time. And also the game itself, is meaned to create multiple chars (unlike most "real" MMO games), to do things again (and again and again). I still play, cause the only thing you loose, is playtime (and fun) - if you dont play now. To play or not to play, changes NOTHING on the situation at the OB date. invited by timer @ 10.12.2011

I have finished ACt 1 once and start Act 2, but I stopped early on in it. As for Act 3, I've seen one or two screenshots, and that's it. The two main reasons for that are Bioshock and Super Mario Galaxy. Both were games I was really looking forward to, so I read every preview, looked at every screenshot and so on until I got the games for myself. But know what? When I could finally play them, I realized I already knew pretty much everything about them already. Where's the fun in that? I want to explore the world, find new skill gems I didn't know about, fight monsters I didn't know about, and go places I didn't know existed. I want to experience everything for myself. I don't want someone else experiencing it for me.
Of course, I will play with several characters, and I will play the same thing over and over and over. But the first time I play it, I want everything to be fresh and new. I won't get that if I play the CB. Once the OB rolls out, I'll be stuck playing the same thing I've already played several times before I get to the new stuff, and where's the fun in that? I want to rather explore everything the first time and know I can take my time with it, as my character won't be deleted. "And that's how you die properly, sailor boy."
