EDIT: Sorry, this was uncalled for. I think, to get Alpha, you have to prove to GGG that you can provide - and have a history of providing - valuable feedback on PoE's development through beta.

Pretty much. Naturally, there's a measure of trust as well -- alpha content is very much NDA and breach of this can get you in very hot water, very quickly. So while more and more alpha testers are likely to be chosen from the beta community based on their feedback, presence and constructive criticism of the game, it all counts for nothing if the person in question doesn't seem trustworthy.

This may unfortunately hinder some long-time beta members who may have gained a reputation over time for...let's call it free-enterprising, free-spirited behaviour.

That said, I stand by my current signature. ^_^

on the other side, staying beta comes with some nice privileges
you can push "NDA-ignorers" into big troubles with reporting them to GGG.
you are still allowed to rumble your opinions about the future content.
you can enjoy a better balanced gameplay.
you can ignore this little "balance"-forumskirmishminigame and concentrate on the bigger things and become a real "global player"
you have more friends/groupmates availible to play with.
you dont need to care about mastering a different language.
you are not bound to timedependant compulsory attendance (uhh, bad google)
--> you can enjoy the game.

lucky?, maybe.

December sounds good.
Hopefully they introduce pvp for all lvls.
I also have a dumb idea what i would really like to see in future updates:

if the ground is on fire and you are using ice nova the fire is killed in the radius
of ice nova .

That said, I was in another closed beta under an NDA and I didn't violate it! =D
