Sui Generis (cool tech)
I'm not sure of the combat in this game is going to be terrible, or super-amazing. Either way, it looks brilliant. You can see it in action in their Kickstarter vid.

The lighting and general area physics are pretty standard. It's something that any game company can pick up with Unreal Engine or Unity. The character animation fluidity is what sets this apart I believe. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled on this to see where it goes.

Yeah well I'm really excited by this game. The combat especially. And I don't want to point out the obvious here but it's worth saying that the physics and especially collisions shown in the dungeon section of the video are way more advanced than anything I've seen before. In that way it puts Unity and Unreal (neither of which actually have physics, what I really mean is PhysX) to shame, lets just hope the game is as good as the tech.

What they've shown is good but it seems pure technical.Could of done with other stuff like for example itemisation,questing,NPC interaction,skill system.Reading from the comments it looks like they have more stuff they could reveal so I will wait closer to the date see what more information they might put forward.

I would love to see an open world RPG like this with a full fledged economic system incorporated into it.
I would like to see how the combat looks from an over the shoulder type perspective, i think with this level of animation and physics it would make the combat even more personal if you were placed closer to the action. I decided to back it with the 10£ because i really like the vision of those guys :D
Eventhough i would still like to hear a bit more about some things. Mainly character developement and combat, though it seems that the next 2 updates should cover this 2 themes. What i especially liked from the first update and the main page (and i really hope they'll be able to deliver it): -"You will find yourself in a large open world that you can explore freely. " -"The world is carefully designed to be believable and have a life of its own. It is not there to wait for you to go on quests, trigger events or make decisions. Events will take their course and may take a turn for the worse if you don't get involved." -"Death will not be hard to come by and carries consequences, and there is no saving and loading. The game will put you in situations where trying to get out alive may be your only concern. We believe this is important to keep the game exciting. What's a game if you can't lose?" Though what i fear most, is that they might be to ambitious for their first project... IMHO even with some 'lesser' goals they could still provide an awesome RPG experience... Thats the main reason i don't think i'll pledge more, with a lesser goal both money wise and mechanically i would be slightly more confident. Looking at this video i think the movement animations could be tightened up a bit...... some of the fights look like 2 spastics going for it.
Seems some of the attacks and responses are over exaggerated, but this could be a really cool mechanic if this was how your character started at lvl 1 and then the combat animations tightened up as you increased in skill! Bring me my bow of burning gold

I won't be able to back this until I see such improvements (hell, let alone afford to.. I still have to get my PoE supporter pack, damn it!), but I'll definitely be spreading the word!
