Awesome!! Can't wait for the release. Honestly I liked the trailer. If I was new to the game I personally would do a bit more research before trying it out. Whereas when I saw the OB trailer I was like I MUST HAVE THIS GAME NOW!!! lol

Sorry for those who weren't happy with the trailer.
I did, in fact, put more effort into it than the Open Beta trailer, as did the rest of our team, and had equally as little sleep out of the whole thing, but I understand that some had expectations that were not met. On a personal level, I'm very happy with the edit and feel that it's technically a more polished and refined accomplishment than the Open Beta Trailer. I am really proud to showcase the work of some of the very talented people at Grinding Gear Games, not to mention the great soundtrack from Kamil Orman Janowski, and it's a shame that some feel we didn't put our best foot forward.
Fortunately, this is not the whole story.
We felt that we'd like to create a bitesize cinematic story trailer this time round - to appeal to a common demographic i.e the large proportion of viewers who dropped out early from watching the OB Trailer - followed up by a fuller gameplay trailer, more along the lines of the Open Beta Trailer.
I agree with the key points made here - focus on all characters and story, explain key gameplay differentiation (skill tree, etc.); we felt that we'd separate these elements out this time to provide two different entry points for two different audiences, so rest assured, these things will be addressed in the forthcoming trailer.
We're putting as much effort into the new gameplay trailer as we ever have into anything so I hope you'll find something of interest in it!

Trailer is OK, i am not sure if i would just go for PoE after seeing it, but some people might. Since i am already here, there are other ways to lure players :)
I am slowly building my game lust for the release date. I will definitely go for the new lesbian character. I hope we will get ours hands on the patch notes and the new updated tree at least 12 hours before the new challenge leagues starts.

I was one of the harsher critics of the trailer, so I will respond by saying that the news about a follow-up video makes me happy. Though I feel that, if this was your plan from the beginning, you would have been better served by naming the first trailer the Scion Class trailer instead of the Release trailer. That would also have made much of my gripes irrelevant, as I had evaluated the trailer on its possible appeal to a completely uninformed audience. To reiterate: I was not personally mortified by the trailer, I just felt it did not and would not do anything to entice new players into trying a wonderful, intellectually respectful ARPG experience.
Thank you for your response, Damien.
Have you made a cool build using The Coming Calamity? Let me know!

Thanks for the feedback, ephetat! I hope the new trailer addresses the concerns raised here by yourself and others!

Whatever you do, dont put a zoomed in running sections. xD
If you want to show some zoomed in things, show some of the finalists Well-dressed Exile Competition characters in epic armor.

I think the trailer would have been much better received if it was called the scion class trailer, focusing on the scion for a Path of Exile release trailer I feel wouldn't accurately convey the spirit of PoE given she's some generic teen fuel.

Hello Damien,
I don't know if you read this thread : http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/533597/page/6 but i don't think it's necessary because of all the answers/feedback we can read here.
But i would like to share with you some of the things that i liked about Open Beta Trailer ( i will not talk about showing the tree + gem combinaison, we all know how it's cool) :
OB Trailer : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDFO4E5OKSE
1- Starts with a beautiful place ( Dominus place VS act 1 (twilight strand, terraces, Merveil's lair on release trailer)
2- The Zoom/Slow_Time at 1:00
3- The musics ( Music at 1:12 ( Play with your friends ) )
4- The big hit on Brutus are 1:27
5- Music at 1:30
6- The epic monster that we can see during few seconds at the end of the trailer, and having that WONDERING FEELING during those secs :
especially watching the monster and the fire moving.
edit : along with the "wondering" music.
__
All of these are missing on the release trailer, i hope you take note on my feedback Damien. And of course, thanks you so much for PoE!
