Prizes for new Default/Hardcore leagues

And why not? I'm sure you have played much longer than me, but there's no need to much science to see that some orbs are ridiculously rare or non existent as a drops. So where do these orbs coming from? If not as easy rewards from various races, then there must be a some miraculous place I may be missed.

"Easy rewards"

People who stay alive in races up till very high levels earned their rewards. They are by no means easy. Case in point? People complaining about others getting these rewards.

Those easy rewards as you call them are one of the major incentives this game has a long term appeal to me and many others. I want there to be many, many more races once this game goes live. Not less or none.
I love the races but it sure takes away the satistfaction of finding exalted and divine orbs by just playing normally when you can get 3-4 of each if you are lucky in a race.

I think they should atleast have some weight to the randomness, but I am not sure of this yet since there needs to much more data and races first.

Oh well, no chance anyway, what with little time to actually play, unlike those of you who don't need to work...
What about those of us who actually have real 9-5 jobs and can only play for 2-3 hours per evening (if that's actually possible with running the household, kids, wife and all that crap, geez real life interupting) and wish to have a decent shot at any prize?

I am stereotyping here, but I'm sure most of your real supporters who buy your supporter packs actually have busy hectic jobs and schedules instead of these slacking loafers no-lifers who dominate top 20 positions on the ladder. There are exceptions, and I am aware of them. You know who you are :)

The problem is that our designs for such leagues always have cheesy ways to bypass the limit, like playing on multiple accounts and handing off the items/currency from the bad account to the good one after each session.

Locked timeslots. 2-3 hours each day during which the league is open; similar to the 2-3 hour races we currently have, but with the overall event lasting a week to a month. Multiple timeslotted races could be held simultanously to provide reasonable event times for players in all areas of the world.

Except that every time there's a 3hr race there's a bunch of people saying they can't play those hours.

I guess I could have read on. But the second part you stated goes back to Chris's concern with people doing cheesy tactics. Rather than it being even playing ground, someone who can devote alot of time can easily get 2 or more character in the top.

Staying alive till 60 lvl isn't hard. I haven't played a lot but i still managed to get with one of my chars up to lvl 60 without dying, so it is not a problem for a more experienced player. I don't complain about others getting rewards, i just want them to be adequate.
I can't participate in races, because i have a job, real life issues and so on.
But i play this game and tell you, i haven't had GCP or above (in terms of trade value) orb drop in a whole playtime, tell me THAT is rewarding.

"All characters over level 60 will receive 32 random currency items.
All characters over level 50 will receive 24 random currency items.
All characters over level 40 will receive 16 random currency items.
All characters over level 30 will receive 8 random currency items."

Do not tell me those rewards quoted above are hard earned. I bet you can get several exalts or divines or GCP, because "These are weighted equally".

Now please play a week and tell me how many you find.
If you want to know REAL value of these orbs, just remove rewards from races and watch them skyrocket.

If you want to play races, be my guest, but this is not supposed to be main income of high valuable orbs.
