server wipe, as in character wipe.. needs to happen for this game to be successful when it goes public and is advertised. end of story, you cant release a game and have everyone be 90's already its not logical. also for the people who dont want one cuz u r greedy and dont want ur farming garbage to go away..get over it, i love this game and i hope they do character wipe and my end game gear is amazing so ya.. neways peace

Play in the new ladders. Problem solved.

What do you know about building a game? Sure it is now you have people with amazing builds and awesome skills to not only help the mass newbs, but you have people to showcase what these people could get up to. That always encourages me when I play a game. Makes me dream and wish to be as amazing as them. Then it happens.

As for what Sl4y3r said(I'm agreeing with you by the way): Seriously people? You are ridiculous. You want a wipe... but you wont just start over in a new league... you makes tons of sense. If everyone was smart the ones that wanted a wipe would play the new leagues and the ones that didn't would just play standard. Problem solved everyone gets their way. People make things so complicated.

I kinda lost hope in GGG fixing the legacy and other items that are going to become unavailable to new characters/players. It seems like the reason why they made that choice is simply because they lack money and time to do such a fix.

omg, for the thousandth time... THIS IS WHAT LEAGUES ARE FOR!! There is nothing to fix, because it is done this way BY DESIGN!!!

So, instead I think they should make an other "standard" permanent league at launch (idk how it would be named, but that doesn't really mather). One that is completely independant of the other ones so everyone can have a fresh start in a balanced league (THAT WILL HOPEFULLY STAY BALANCED).

Well, that's just a game of Russian Dolls isn't it? Because as soon as you do this, people will play in it, then demand that it be balanced and another league created...

Standard league is the league you are talking about.

... or else... bye bye GGG and good job ruining one of the best game I ever played.

So, you don't like one of the fundamental design features of the game, that's fine. But at least try to wrap your head around the fact that there is nothing to fix: Just play in a different league.

Someone had a little problem reading my post. Or perhaps is it me? did I not state "A NEW PERMANENT LEAGUE INDEPENDANT OF OTHER ONES"

Id also like to read something else than "That is what leagues are for" after every post I make

Edit: Doesn't it make sense tho? Game launch -> New permanent league launch to solve several balance issues. Anyways, I dont see how you could be against that idea... If that happened everyone would be happy. If you wanna stay in the old standard league and be op with your grandfathered legacy gear. Just do it and have fun. If you want to play a balanced and fair league. Reroll on the new permanent league. Its quite simple and I doubt its really hard for them to create a new league. They create race leagues on a daily basis

And no, dont tell me its done that way by design...

"Sorry guys, we are unable to change the stats on your older items to fix overpowered builds. Dont worry tho, its how it supposed to be. ITS DONE THIS WAY BY DESIGN" *Meanwhile the nerf does not affect at all the rich players, therefore being completely useless and in that case creating inequalities between players*

Getting a little bit ridiculous there dont you think?

Sounds like theres far more than just legacy items that you'll never see.

You'd be wrong though. I managed to drop kaoms heart, lioneyes, soul taker on my own took me over a year to get a kaoms but I got it eventually. I will get a shavrones too at some point even if it takes me two years but not if they become legacy.

Okay mighty one with such great knowledge then explain. This is what I know:

The best builds are not built with the legacy items. The legacy items support builds and make them possible but without rares your build wont stand a chance in merciless. This isn't Diablo 2 people where all you need are uniques and runewords to win(which the best players still used rares for all gear except their main hands and body armor). For one Kaom's isn't OP. Its so well balanced its crazy. I would love to use it on my life build but to have the same effects I need my 6link chest. Kaom's doesn't provide resists or even top tier armor rating. The only positive is the "+" to life. Granted its huge but not for everyone. Now this is something that has been already said to moving on.

Now mobutu no matter what you say Diablo 2(and sadly 3) are amazingly popular. Path of Exile would be considered(and is IMO) A HUGE success to be ranked with Diablo 2 and other games that are as successful whether you like them or not. POE will make their money with or without you. These legacy items are fun. That's how it is. They create adventure and drive. So there is a guy thats better than you because he has something you don't. Wow, big deal. Its a game, and similar to the real world there is ALWAYS someone better than you or rising through the ranks to over take you.

Legacy items have been created. The will continue to be created. Like legendary pokemon(which some how, again, is STILL an amazingly popular game)people will hunt them down, find them, and use them for the power they possess. That doesn't stop a useless pokemon becoming peoples favorites and they WILL use them. Like my summoner. With the hits summoners have taken I will never be a discharger or anything(at least not playing legit) but I will enjoy every second and I can handle most content. Some classes are OP deal with it hammerdin haterz(lol I think the paladin was OP in general though haha).

POE keep on rocking.

Congrats on the drops, but I would say that your prior post is quite misleading with respect to limited play time.

^examples of people that really dont understand the problem, they effectively dont see the whole picture.
having legacy items is beyond retarded.

i think you confuse "disagreeing that the problem exists" with "not able to comprehend that there is a problem".

i can read what you are writing (unfortunately) and no matter how many times you assert your position to be a fact does not make it so.

we seem to have two camps in this thread:

-camp 1 says that legacy items are game breaking and a terrible idea, they may even quit over it. they also don't seem to admit that the current legacy items already in game like the +2 silverbranch is already in the game!!! how many do you see used or for sale? zero would be your answer i am sure just like these new legacy items in a month.

-camp 2 doesn't see legacy items as a problem or at minimum just don't care one way or another.

So your reasoning is that they should add imbalance into the game cause its fun for a few players? Alright
Dischargers wouldnt exist without legacy items.
