"The PS3 shits on any PC out there in terms of performance"
LOLWUT?!
I used to have this pretty cool job of working for a large electronics insurance repair company where I got to reverse engineer electronic devices and build them back from the ground up, creating documentation so the technicians could properly troubleshoot and repair systems.
Included in this were video game systems: The PS3, XBOX 360, Wii, Nintendo DS/i, and PSP.
The PS3 had horrible power supply issues, it would come manufactured with ceramic thermal paste added to the CPU and GPU for a gaming machine instead of metallic based. It had the weirdest VGA/DVI/HDMI connection process in the world, where if you hooked it up to your TV/Monitor it would automatically remember the hookup and only after doing a hard reset on the box would it hookup any other way.
The XBOX 360 was absolutely the worst though. The engineering inside that box is an engineer's nightmare. Using capacitors that looked like they came pre-equipped on pre-WWII era chipsets and the lack of pushing bad air out of the system created a ton of heating issues. Actually, most of the time an XBOX 360 gets a RROD it's specifically due to the manufacturing in which the X in XBOX is named. The XBOX uses and X looking clamp designed by Microsoft to hold the CPU in place to the motherboard. Unfortunately, this is only bolted into the bottom of the motherboard, and when the chipset gets hot enough it will actually warp the board around the backend of the X clamp and pull apart the CPU from the motherboard itself. When this happens you have to reflow the board in a reflow oven or with a heat gun and hope that it sits back on the board perfectly otherwise it will forever be screwed.

Holy crap! Once again I am vindicated when I say that MicroCrap, uh, I mean MicroSoft makes crap. My area is software - all that hardware is just voodoo to me lmao! I'm all thumbs with hardware but software, easy peasy. Probably would be best just to pop open an XBOX 360 for proper ventilation. I keep the side of my computer off for extra air circulation; granted I have fans and a liquid cooling system but more open spaces the better me thinks...
Plus, pc games are just much easier to manipulate. I used crack open up the XMLB/XML files on Age of Empires and enjoy manipulating the libraries when I got bored. I then built super civilizations with super weapons - fun times :D
