Empower

A few choice empower possibilities as increase over base contributions...

Auras
Anger: Nets ~15% damage
Wrath: Nets ~10% (estimated) damage
Tempest Shield: Assuming linear scaling nets 15% Damage
Discipline: Assuming linear scaling ~10% ES

Skills
Molten Shell: ~13% Damage, ~400 armour
Ethereal Knives: Assuming linear scaling ~18% Damage
Incinerate: ~20% damage

Those are some pretty hefty potential damage boosts. The gem is worthless in (most) attack gems though.

Took me 2 months to level it to 2 and will probably take me 1 year to level it to 3 but I don't care, still won't spend my gcp for this ridiculous quality bonus.

does empower get "empowered" if it is socketed in an item with [+1 to gems in this item]?

Second, do any linked skills then get +2?

yes, yes. Max skill level available there is 26, with +1 to all gems and +2 to specific gem type (melee/ranged/etc).

This Gem's Experience Requirement to be usefull is a BIG FUCKING FAIL.

In a 4 month league, you can have this gem at level 3 only when you are a nolifer.

pretty sure thats a given considering that its a drop only gem to start of logic with.

I wrote this about enhance and i write this again here because they have the same experience progression.

To level a non quality empower up to level 3 you will have to reach player level X with N different players with empower always equipped:

X -> N
50 -> 263
60 -> 98
70 -> 40
80 -> 17
90 -> 7
100-> 3

Piety all the way (Piety only, 12000xp for the gem):120k times.
Piety-Spinecrack-Kole-Inquisitor and skip all the others(35000xp for the gem):41k times
Dominus +3 unique bosses(33400xp for the gem):43k times.

Not really, remember that you get exp penalty but your gems dont. When you get close to lvl 100 you gain like 5% exp from maps, while the gems gain the full 10% (so yes, the gem gains exp faster than you)
