Blue Screen of Death with some sound cards
had page fault in nonpaged area bsod, cant be xram since its audigy2 platinum, --softwareaudio seems to "fix" the issue for now... it seems that this game has gone from relatively stable closed beta to an totally unstable crashing, constantly disconnecting and desyncing open ALPHA product...sad...

I'm blue screening every single time I try to load into Act 3 Warehouses with an X-Fi card. I used --softwareaudio and it seemed to fix my BSODs in most areas, but I continue to BSOD in Warehouses. A little frustrating to say the least. I do not wish to use onboard sound.

I'm having this issue with a Xi-fi (v2.17.9) as well, random BSOD here and there. Turning on software sound seems to give me a really un-smooth experience, so I've been playing with --nosound...not really my favorite solution...

BSOD here also. Today much worse than before. Sure this new BSOD is not video related?

BSOD with Xi-Fi Titanium. Tried both the software and the Registry fixes with no improvement. I blue screened once when I selected my character and hit play. The other times seem to happen when I use a portal or a waypoint. Might try the -nosound, but really not motivated to play anymore until fix is in place. The problem seems to have been around a long time, so testing for it seems like a waste of reboots. Hope it is fixed soon.
Also updated Nvidia drivers to latest as well as Creative drivers. Last edited by Jiambi on Jan 29, 2013, 6:54:37 PM

Yesterday I had two BSODs described as: "unexpected kernel mode trap". This happened only in Path of Exile: first as I entered Act 2, and then second one while loading "Dark Forest" location in Act 2.
I'm using Windows 8 64bit and Creative Audigy 2 with Daniel_K modded driver. I've tried Software sound and played without BSOD and the "Dark Forest" loaded OK. However for me the software sound quality is really poor: lower number off sound samples, no imitation of "eax" area effects and bad quality. Hardware was way better. So I'm trying now to run without "--softwareaudio" switch but will try adding registry string: "DisableXRAM" shown in the other post and look as it works with it. Disk drive: Samsung 830 64GB SSD & Seagate 250GB HDD Sound card: Creative Audigy 2 (Daniel_K modded driver) PSU: Corsair Tx650w System: Windows 8 64-bit German OEM Last edited by Pitol321 on Jan 30, 2013, 4:24:14 AM

" Go sit on some ice because your butt obviously hurts. This isn't even a finished product its a BETA. I don't think you can have a beta without problems occuring that is kind of the point after all to test and correct issues before and OFFICIAL RELEASE. See what I did there. There happens to be a pretty big difference between betas and a final product you know. |
