0.11.4 Patch Notes
8 Months now in open beta and we are still beating around the bush about the same problems. And as always reading the patch notes I am wondering where this is all going.
Since I started back in January there are this two parties arguing: The one claiming that the game is going nowhere and the other one saying that everything is gonna work out in due time. Meanwhile there was an attempt at balancing things out which turned out to be a disaster in my humble opinion. Funny though how quickly GGG reacts to minor imbalances that Kripp uncovers while: 1. trading is still inaccessible to average players 2. crafting is inaccessible to average players 3. playing self found is unreasonably hard 4. melee still sucks 5. build variety is nonexistent 6. mA3 still unbalanced (huge difficulty spike and gear barrier between mA2 and mA3) And the people who voice concern are for the most part people who care about the game and support it financially. I'm not losing hope but during the open beta experience very few pressing issues have been addressed. And while I understand that technical issues are important I can hardly imagine that the balancing guy is helping out with the textures so... Realistically I would say that this game would be a challenge to balance for any company no matter the amount of resources. So maybe GGG has bit of more than they can chew and are probably drowning in work right now while 200+ premium supporters are knocking on their door to have their Unique made... Good luck guys Edit: 7. too many fanboys on the forums defending the status quo of this game as if it was the holy grail. Last edited by TylerRand#4488 on Aug 19, 2013, 8:56:07 AM

Why do people focus on sporkers so much? I'm not playing one, but I don't care if the next person is. So what that they can breeze through the game, I know that when my build that I did from scratch gets there I will be able to hold my head high and know I did it the way I wanted to. I just don't understand why everybody has to tear somebody else down because they feel it is unfair that they get something. If that is the case, then they may as well as make every weapon do 1 point of damage, make every armor block 1 point of damage, every player gets 20 points of life, every monster does 1 point of damage. Every single node on the tree would do absolutely nothing. Then nobody could cry that somebody else has something better then they do because everybody would be equally crappy. There will always be inequalities amongst builds because it is so open on the skill tree. Even amongst same skill builds it can be radically different. Just because you chose not to go one route, don't block others from going the same route.

" I hope it stays that way. This game should never be an auction house. Play it instead of trading. " Eternal/Exalt you mean? It should take effort. Everything else works fine. " Feb-Aug 14th I was 100% self found. No issues. The only reason I'm not right now is because of the build I wanted to try requires rarer items. " In what way? You can totally do all this game as melee. You mean it isn't as easy as ranged? Oh well. Most of my characters are melee and I've had no problem. " This one is the most wrong of the bunch. I guess Spork is the one true way for you? A quick look at class forums shows otherwise. " Not sure what you mean. Merc seems to flow nicely from act to act to me. " Or they just want to be developers and give orders. OCD over balance is a WoW tradition that has infected every game since. |

"I tried to make a dual sporker character. End result is I failed and I did little to no damage =D. I agree, just play what you want to play |

" I agree on all 6 points. Last edited by Rowsol#3517 on Aug 17, 2013, 11:50:05 PM

" what a bunch of bullshit 1. spam tradechat use poexyz ....what do you want auction house simulator ? go play d3 2. it is possible to craft items what you want is gg and for gg the probability is really small and to know that you just have to take a look on the modtable 3. you just suck thats all it will be really easy to play a non unique dependent build like ek or spark 4. watch nastakanoth yeah melee sucks 5. now you are trolling 6. really i you cant adapt from no chaos dmg to a handful mobs with chaos dmg and puncture you suck again chamber of sins is much harder than most areas in act3 ( yes i know you died your way down to the boss) no one cares iam an average player i have playtimes 2-3 h my build is 7/10 unqiues i traded so am i special ? lol no wonder he is pissed 2/3 dead hcs ...better play sc instead of blaming the game https://poe-ssf.herokuapp.com/. i agree with act3merci is unbalanced( or at least it feels unbalanced) and i´m not talking about the chaos dmg ( you should know from cruel and normal that there is (more) chaos in act3 and thats totally fine)
barracks (shieldcharge + arc)seems more than just a bit harder than a easy/average rolled 66 map (its a 66 area as well!!) and lunaris level 3 with the small corridors + ranged tentacle monsters can be very hard as well (especially against melee) dont get me wrong i´m not saying its too difficult/hard !!!!! the difficulty just "suddenly" spikes up in those areas (even with caped resists, excluding chaos) maybe they should increase the dmg/difficulty a bit in the areas before barracks to make the progression still hard, but smoother from area to area |

The only unbalanced thing in this game is map system..And i think it ll be fine when other areas are added cuz then you dont need maps to gain exp...Maps should be additional content when you get bored from farming normal areas..And that ll be fixed when act3 X comes and other acts..Please dont say me ACT3 is end of this game..These system requiremnts pathc ll be good for players like me who dont have ulti best computers..I want to play this game in low settings without a problem..I hope they ll fix this time by time..So we need to be patient and should wait the whole ended game before go so harsh...

Do you even realise how huge a nerf this is to life based characters?
A slim advantage that life users had over es users were the ability to cast auras on life with The Covenant.. If I want to keep my auras I have to reserve 2x the life and give away several gem slots.. |
|
" i cant hear "imba es here, imba es there" anymore... did you even try to make a CI build? it's not that easy. you need rly awesome ES gear and several uniques in order to make it work. otherwise you will get perma frozen and stunned :P CI is only "imba" if u have top high end gear. Gear with a value of 50+ exalteds. GGG cant balance the game in regard to players like Kripparrian :D Nearly every other average player wont be able to play CI that way. Life based builds are far superior for lower budget players. This makes it rly hard to balance. You cannot just compare the amount of maximum ES with the amount of maximum HP you can possibly get. But i have to admit that they have to do something with the auras. some of them are way too important in order to live without them :/ |
