- Weapons 'n' Armour (Proposals).

Hi, i've always missed the oriental weapons and armours aswell as clothes in the RPG games; and i'll like to see a good representation of 'em, not just the tipical thing... the sword that you use between the short sword and the long sword in awaiting of a +1 short sword or a long sword, i mean something that you still want to use even having already a magic sword +1 or +2 in your inventory.
Same for the oriental armours, i've never really seen a full armour armour in a RPG AFAIR, only things like shoulder pads, and legs pads etc, but never a full armour, or other than a ninja look alike light armour/clothes; i'll like to see 'em someday somewhere, so... my proposals are:

- Oriental Weapons.
- Oriental Armours.
- Oriental Clothes.
- Oriental Enemys.

Hi, other thing that i'll like... will be to be able of select the colour of my armor, maybe in the DOW style just selecting the colour of it's main parts and then a different one for it's furniture, but i'll be happy enough if i could change it's colour; so i could choose if wear a blood red armor, or a black one or a bronze one; so there won't be 3.000 persons with the same equipment/shape in game. I'm sick of the "stick eastern stuff in every single setting" trend. Fucking ninjas and samurais in Ultima, monks in D&D, Katana wielders wearing trenchcoats in games set in North America...

My suggestion: stick to the setting and to what makes sense within it. Is it based on 14th century Saudi Arabia? No viking armor, then.
I agree that the equipment should be thematically consistent. If it's a Middle-Ages Europe-based theme, Oriental weapons/armor would be a little out of place.

Also, it becomes more difficult to balance the more weapons and armor are added. That's why I'd rather see such variety in an expansion - get the game released with a good, reasonably diverse but consistent item set, then add more as the game expands after release.

they gotta make money somehow and armor dye is probably a good place to do it. i am much happier with the shop selling dye and not weapons/armor/spells
I agree with you there apocalypse, and we all have to remember that the areas and settings in the games are all fantasy, so who's to say that a trenchcoat wearing katana wielding madman can't be running around the crazy world of PoE, it's doubtful but not impossible.

Ha ha like POE's own version of highlander.
Yes good sir, I enjoy slaying mythical creatures.
Hi, are you dumb or what?!, "XIV Century" based what...?!, do you realize that this is a fantasy RPG?, that there were no zombies, minotaurs and dragons back then?; are you aware of that?. Or you're one of those who think that the dragons don't exist no more because the King Arthur took care of 'em, that there're no more minotaurs because Jason & the Argonauts took care of him too.
This is a fantasy RPG, if i want to get oriental weapons, clothes or armor; i should be able to. Ask David Cooperfield... the magic don't exists. Let's C ya
