Also Like I've said before bear in mind my skin was swollen as f### and I did specifically request a comical fantasy art style for the tat.

Did your artist recommend any specific healing creams to you? Otherwise, try using an off-the-shelf moisturizer if you're still affected by it. It might help.

And on-topic: Very nice coloring and detail on the tatt. Why Brutus (or is it Kole?) though? Personally, if I'd wanted a POE ink, I'd probably have gone with a gentler image, but I'm just curious to hear your reasoning.

I use bepanthen for it. I tend to bleed and swell quite a bit when tattooed. That why an arm is unfinished still and will be completed in a touch-up session. The picture was taken literally 3 minutes after the needles left my skin.

For me I'm not into aesthetic beauty as much as artistic style. I don't like a lot of tattoo ideas that look beautiful because they hold little meaning to me. I noticed someone mentioned getting a Kiwi, but being a New Zealander myself that would have been incredibly cliche. I wonder if tattoos are far more acceptable in NZ as other cultures? I didn't expect such a debate about a tattoo.

Brutus is probably my most feared boss and given that I play HC he's been the cause of a lot of character deaths, so it's somewhat a tribute to all the hours Ill never get back from him. It was either gonna be him or a necromancer but I'm glad I chose him.

I don't get tattoos outside what a tee shirt can cover so from an employment problem I only see it being a regret if I choose to be a stripper :P. I am studying a second degree so to all the people saying I won't get a job, I'm fairly employable I just have different taste to some more conservative people I suppose.

[Edit, sorry I kinda answered more than your question]

Nah that's fine, perspectives from inked folk tend to be interesting :D

And on that note, interesting reason on choosing Brutus. Yeah I reckon a named character would be more interesting than a generic Necromancer, since Brutus is going to always be a part of POE lore (and probably in the same way that the Butcher will always be remembered in Diablo).

Where I come from, ink is still largely seen as part of gang culture. It's an understandable, if sad aspect, of social progression. It's probably a wise idea not to get ink on visible areas unless you're sure you want to work in a field that doesn't mind the ink (and can find employment in one). Literally all my inked friends are either self-employed successfully, or have fairly good employment, so don't let the employment reason bother you.

Then again, I happen to know of a lawyer who has twin sleeves, so... What was that about employment again? Yeah.

Anyway, I suppose that a large majority of people simply can't wrap their head around the idea of permanence in tattooing. Believe me, tattoo-haters, there is much "worse" out there... Lol. Tattoos are literally only the tip of the iceberg.

I notice that my Japanese friends say in Japan that it is seen like that. From what I've seen in NZ unless you have a tattoo related directly to a gang then there's no stigma (I could be wrong in other places in NZ though).

I like the permanence as I find it makes a tattoo an intimate form of self expression. So I feel I would rather get something that suits me. I have another tattoo of R2D2, given that I've been a Star Wars fan since I was 7.

I plan to get more based on media that I find has been a huge part of my life.

I can see reasons why people wouldn't want to get a tattoo on themselves. I don't have any piercings for instance, not that I have any problem with them but I don't think they'd look good on me.

I plan to work in conservation so hopefully that isn't going to be a problem. I have a degree in information technology but decided to study Zoology as I would rather work in that field (Unless GGG hired me of course :P).
I'm of the idea that I would dislike working for someone who is so against tattoos that they wouldn't hire me anyway. Especially ones that are easily hidden.

You're gonna regret that one day. :) Props for having the balls to do it though.
Great tattoo of the b'tus
I think this, once again PROOVES that videogames are more of a benefit to the human condition than a drawback. Reinforcing the general misconception that Computer Games (well made ones) are the causes of societys disgustingness to itself has been SMASHED to pieces by this obviously highly developed exile, I, Kiwi and the whole of Wrayclast INCLUDING the mobs salute you chap.

VERY GG!
Existence is infinite, a weave of live and dead, beyond the understanding of the many mortal threads.
Embrace death to honour the lost, no fear in life no matter the cost. With one of all we are and all of one we trust, throughout past, present and future...... be just.
I would get a tattoo, but everyone's art sucks

I've played a few games and I've never put as much time and frequency in them as path of exile.

I'll give you a positive goal, hit the gym and lose some weight fat boy. A game affecting your life in a positive way/negative way is a game you spend too much time on.

Evlesoa, you do realise what triggered your pathetic anger was not the OP but someone else?
Read up the comments you are replying to.
Such rage with a misunderstanding....... but thanks to it we saw your true face.
If you take all that time and energy to bash someone, you got real issues yourself.
A tattoo is not a big deal, a rotten mind on the other hand....
Gl with that....

Anyone who thinks small stuff like a game or tiny details in you life can't sometimes be what keeps you afloat, clearly knows nothing of psychology or the intricacies of the human mind.
But then again, we can't expect every gamer to be either experienced or educated enough to grasp all concepts.

Then a guy comes and calls the OP fat out of nowhere? Among other insults. Clearly some people here have way bigger problems than the OP, some may even represent a peril to others with such bottled anger.

Getting out of you way to make someone feel bad about themselves is more than enough for many scary diagnosis.
Go and treat yourself before society has to exclude you for the safety of the majority.
Your not welcome here bra!

Just some clarification for all the "ink experts" watching ink master, or tattoo nightmares doesn't even give you the grounds to judge. Keep your uneducated opinions to yourself.

This is quality work. No lines are blown out, nothing looks chewed up at all. The light blue being used here as a mild highlight is a great choice for the style of art this is done in.

Most artist will give a tattoo a cool down period of 15 - 30 minutes, usually under a towel soaked with cool water or witch hazel to allow the swelling and redness to subside before they snap a picture for there portfolio.

The fact that it looks as calm as it does in the picture so quickly after being finished is only further proof that the artist knows what they are doing.

On another note, to everyone saying the OP will regret this one day. For some people, tattoos are a way of life, myself included. Being tattooed requires the correct frame of mind in order to have a proper effect. The OP can look at this tattoo in twenty years, and it will be a constant reminder of who they were then, and how it led them to be who they are today.
