Death Penalty Changes in 0.11.3
" You people who keep complaining about XP DO understand that this is a company that wants to keep people playing their game, right? If for every 10 players, 1 wants it 'hardcore' and 9 quit playing 'because it's too hard and there's other more forgiving games out there', then statistics just beat you ... deal with it. If it's such a big problem for some people, then GGG should make a new 'Easy' league where new players can have NO XP loss, revert Default/Softcore back to what it was, and you UBER-HC guys can still try to never die .... that solve it? And of course no stash sharing between leagues. Some of us aren't geeks living in our parents basements who can play 10+ hours a day ... so if I spend 2 hours getting 15% of my XP and then something like desync wipes that all out ... it makes the past 2 hours worthless (and I can't just keep playing another 8 hours). If you want to be hardcore, then play Hardcore ... don't enforce that standard onto everyone. |

I personally think we should keep no exp penalty on normal, but after that make it a flat 10%. In Cruel it's fairly easy to regain that 10% and in Merciless you shouldn't be dying, so even though 10% is harsh in the lvl 90s, you deserve it because your build sucks.. :P
This is all assuming they fix the desync issue soon, as getting your character one shot is rather frustrating... O.O IGN: SuijinRaven, BakuRaven, JasterRaven

@jbd yeah, except scrubs always whine about a game being too hard, until it's finally dumbed-down to the point where even they find it boring, then they all quit anyway.
That's exactly what happened to Diablo 3 and WoW. These people are fairweather gamers that will not stick around regardless, so stop catering to them and focus on the gamers that will actually stick around for the longrun and be a solid foundation for the game. The fairweather gamers will come and go, but once you lose your hardcore base, that's the end of your game. |
|
" They need money too, not just a hardcore fan base. There's no game at all without money ;). However if that's the way this game is honestly going to go ( pay to get your say, so long as you play hardcore) then im out. Make Things For Smile! Last edited by AdzPoE#5624 on Jul 25, 2013, 5:57:26 PM

" Exactly, and that's why there's leagues. No one's saying "lets make Hardcore easy for the scrubs". |
|
" what jbd007 said. In regards to Diablo 3 being made easy and that's why people quit. I don't agree with that. I quit Diablo 3 NOT because it was nerfed to hell and back. But rather because it didn't have any of the bells and whistles that PoE has to keep me coming back. D3 lacked depth. PoE has depth. Difficulty does factor in but its not the end all be all deciding factor. The difficulty was honestly a minor concern in the grand scheme of things for why D3 sucked. This is of course just my opinion. Edit: Also for fucks sake. People are acting like its the end of the game and the devs nerfed the monsters to complete weaklings. All they did was reduce the death penalty for standard leagues. Merciless will still kick your ass just as much as it did before this patch in whatever league you are in. I used to play Diablo 3, then I realized it doesn't have a Shabby Jerkin. Last edited by Augustrad#3648 on Jul 25, 2013, 6:09:24 PM

Why not just have instanced loot? Since obviously you've given up on the loot tension philosophy.
Very disappointed. IGN:

" Because when it is instanced, you can't see what other received directly. Being happy for someone else received a good drop, is an important social aspect. This message was delivered by GGG defence force.
