Partially because it's flat out wrong, and i'm not sure how it hasn't been changed yet when other things that didn't adhere to PoE's hyperliteral (which is a good thing) wording style DID get changed (like Vaal Pact).

It's also redundant. Enemies burn for 50% of your maximum Life per second as Fire Damage.
They burn for fire damage?
Really? Are you sure? Burning is fire? No, couldn't possibly be the case.

Should say Enemies degenerate for 50% of your maximum life per second as Fire Damage.

Righteous Fire is just a baffling skill altogether, after that build of the week video that utilized it as its main way of dealing damage you would have thought that more effort would be put into making that kind of build work.

But after all the nerfs to life, life regen and to the elemental adaptation node, that build has been tossed out the window completely. And instead you only see RF being used as a huge spell damage buff.

Was that its ordinal purpose or what?

Before chaos resist was variable, the concept of a low-life RF did not exist reasonably. I mean, I still did it (where my "low life" was 2k/6k), but the build sucked.

RF originally did both things -- it was kinda used for aoe damage and it was kinda used for bursts of spell damage alongside a dousing flask to turn it off.

Then we got variable chaos resist in OB AND we got Zealot's Oath. With both those things, you could burn for a small amount of damage relative to your eshield and easily outregen that damage due to ZO, then not instantly die to chaos damage despite only having ~500 life after reservation.

Invalesco made this build and it was amazing.

Then we got Shavronne's, which meant that you had complete and utter safety from chaos damage and could reserve even more life/invest zero into life. At around the same time, max fire resist was massively reduced and so was max life. So now all we have is RF for spell damage and the aoe burn portion is a joke.

It is correct, though, and has always been correct. The sword explicitly says you are immune to Ignite. Righteous Fire says you take Burning Damage. They clearly use different wording, because they refer to different things.

Ignite is Fire's status ailment. While suffering from Ignite, the target takes Burning Damage, or Fire Damage over Time.
Righteous Fire simply deals Burning Damage.

Similarly, Scorned causes Ignited enemies to burn faster: it has no effect on Righteous Fire, Fire Trap's burning ground and the likes because they do not cause Ignite.

I'll agree on this though. Burning damage checks against Fire resist, so naturally if a monster Burns, it is taking Fire damage over time.

They should be posted here as well IMHO, so the OP can put them into his post (or is there any way he could get them from the event page?)
