Today, people are mad about an "Easter egg" being put into a game. They're mad that a unique item that they personally don't find useful or don't get the reference was put into a game.

I'm happy with both gotterdammerung reference and the unique fishing rod. One gave me a nostalgia trip, other showed that GGG is aware of what's happening in its games community and that they have a nice sense of humor. Both made me smile a bit.

People like easter eggs, but they like them if they're already implemented in the game. Somehow having them implemented later in the game is generally perceived as a waste of resources. However, people really have little idea on what resources various things require.

RNG is RNG. Why make it worse?

You're not the only person playing the game.

There are people who will be happy to find an "Easter egg" or a unique that brings them memories back, or a unique item that will make them think of a build and try it out, or might be the last piece missing for their wanted build idea. Not all uniques are useful for everyone.

Searing touch was a cheap unique for a very long time, until Kripp made his CI discharger and everyone wanted one too, even though there were plenty of people using the staff before him and they were happy it was cheap, because majority didn't used it as they saw it quite as a useless unique and weren't happy about finding it.

Being unhappy that an item which you can't or don't want to use dropped for you on a specific kind of run/playstyle you do, for your own fun is truly just being spoiled.

RNG is RNG, most uniques aren't even needed for either end-game or even playing normally and most of which are important in end-game, can only be found in end-game. With that and the rarity of uniques, I don't see how it is making RNG any worse for anyone.

These aren't legendaries for you and GGG stated multiple times what their stance on uniques is.

Again with low lvl leveling uniques, they get trashed so fast :(. Atleast put some mid-till mapping uniques if you dont want end game ones...Still will prolly keep one for twinking.

I think GGG is putting low level ones in for races, new leagues, and to tempt in newbies. I remember TotalBiscuit being really excited on the podcast when he talked about finding a Shiverstig, something most of us deem as junk, fit only for leveling.

Shiversting and other lvling uniques makes me happy in fresh leagues or when i find them in races but other than that its not fun finding them, but i understand the need of lvling uniques of mid-high tier, the low ones expire their usage very very fast.
