Petrov's Elemental Bow Ranger Build(s) (0.10)
" i think that build drains life more maybe and koams helps hp regen. lvl 80 ranger

" >> Why do people almost always take Iron Reflexes? >> Isnt armor weaker than evasion? Simply relying on evasion from hits is not ideal. Since when you are hit, the armor is usually pretty low and you will take a lots of dmg. That's why. Relying purely on evasion requires to take acrobatics and arrow dodging. Relying on evasion and armor together requires to take so boost up nodes for evasion/armor and have good gear for that. >> Or is just for the "Cannot be stunned" from Unwavering Stand? I think this is of minor importance and depends on the build you choose for ranger. Practically any build of ranger having a lots of HP will be stunned in minimal number of occasions. " What usually gets you killed is a burst of damage when you get out of position or when you get stunned. Iron reflexes doesn't increase your mitigation by any significant amount. What it does is allow you to survive 3 quick hits of 1000 where evasion is going to fail from time to time and get you killed. Reliable damage mitigation is really important. So much that people thought evasion was broken when it was working fine. They thought it was broken cause people running around with huge dodge percentages were getting instagibbed every now and then when they rolled a bad chain of hits.
" Exactly. Running an evasion only defense means that you are not going fight par to par with hard hitting mob - when you take 1 hit which takes 1/2 of your HP -> run from him. Even with 80% evasion it's not reliable and multiple hit chain can occur. Moreover if you can't outrun such foe, then you need to employ technique to stop it for a while - until you reheal. E.g. traps, chill, etc... Similar thing can be said about very popular blood magic. This is having another very interesting flaw. And that's when you can't out-heal the mobs attacking you, you are gonna be prepared to run and you won't be able to shoot (until you reheal). Shooting will kill you. Just if using blood magic and getting often to close encounter - you need to be very carefully weighting whether you can withstand the damage thrown on you. If you judge this badly, the chances are good you are dead in next 10 seconds. :-) MY CHALLENGES ARE DONE ON HC, IT'S NOT SC GUYS!

" I'm, running a blood magic build in merciless and there aren't a lot of times I tank and shoot-heal. It's definitely a risky strategy. Too much experience is lost if you die every 30 minutes. I just spam decoy totem and long range split/fork the mobs with life on hit. If the totem is going down so fast I can't shoot/totem/shoot/totem I use my 34% run speed to kite. I find you can dodge quite a lot if you keep moving. Last edited by cityuk04 on Apr 19, 2013, 12:34:17 PM

" Iron reflexe is an awsome nod, with grace you win a lot of armor. If u play full evasion sometimes u will evade and you dont evade you will die, with iron reflexe its not based on the luck as evasion, you can take damage and heal you if you are low life, with eva sometimes you will evade sometimes you will die
uhm is it worth alpha's howl + 10% reduced mana reservation by passive + reduced mana gem ecc ecc, try to run more auras or the life cost is still too much with blood magic?

If you play with blood magic on the tree, you can use aura wich use a number of mana(life) like wrath , anger , grâce.
If you want use aura wich use a % of your mana/life Like détermination, hatred ,... you cant use bm on the tree because its use to much life, you need play with mana or use blood magic gem and put these aura linked to reduce mana on your mana Last edited by keta on Apr 22, 2013, 7:02:23 AM

I'm entirely new to the game and still learning some of the basics, but I've decided to try the tankier shock stacking inner force build (#2) as my first character.
How should I be dealing with the bandits for this build?
40 hp, passiv point, frenzy charge if you use frenzy, passive point if you use elemental hit
