How much dps should you be putting out around level 50-60?

" Big jump in DPS between 50-60. I'm 49, doing about 600dmg on solo targets and 400 per LA arrow. A good majority of my passive nodes are in life. I have a decent bow that really made my DPS go up. I've seen people claiming 3000 dmg on solo and 2000 on LA at level 70. |

Hi, i just entered act 3 merciless and i feel like my hole stuff is crap (like every time i started act3). I'm pretty weak so i have to kite to survive and i feel like my dps could be improved too.

lvl62 1702 HP (1354 with auras) 63 life per second 50% physical damage reduc resist : -19 / 41 / 4 / -60 with 5 frenzy charges i have 1966dps on frenzy 1339dps on LA What should i upgrade first ? focus on stuff? quality gems? just continue leveling to get through act 3 easier? " Skilltree wise you are on the right path. Perhaps you want to Regret the east branch from Ranger to get more life from Marauder now. Leave only the Attack Speed. Projectile damage is not really as effective as Weapon Elemental Damage nodes when we use LA since Projectile Damage only modify the damage your projectile hits while elemental damage modifies the overall damage including AoE from LA. I also noticed that most of your gears have little or no life. You need life. As much as possible. DPS is not really a concern if your 1339 dps of LA is LA > LMP > Faster Attack > WED > LGoH. Trying swapping Faster Attack with Chain. You will see a big increase in Damage created (not your character sheet) as well as faster clearing and more life gain per shot. You bow is about 148 dps. Merciless Act 3 go for 200, mapping go for 250. Use this as a guide. Of course the higher the merrier. Personally, I feel when compare Decoy Totem with Summon Skeleton Totem, Skeleton is for more advance use when you have better gears. Since start till now (mapping ~68), I still favour Decoy as it lures all mobs to one place where I can use my LA's AOE effectively. The chain effect when target A and B are close together means one shot each of them get hits 3 times. If your 2 of your projectiles hits each A and B, they will end up getting hit 6 times per shot. That's why I love Decoy. Hope this helps. 8) PS: Of courses, get more resistance. " Emphasis on the PS. MORE RESISTANCE!! Life is great, but even if you juice up your life a few hundred points with different gear, without having all your resistances 40%+ you are going to be taking a lot of damage in merci. I had this problem with my Mara when I hit merci act 3. I had almost 4k life but I was still getting rocked sometimes, especially on bosses. I switched out some gear, lost about 400 in life but upped my resistances all over 60% and I was running around act 3 with almost no problems. My chaos, as usual, was in the negatives but as long as you pay attention to mobs then you should be okay. |

SO my friend has been trying the "tanky build" but the guide dosent really say much about gems. Does he use any reduced mana gems liked with the aruas or anything? Any links to the gear. My friend is very new to this and he needs all the help he can get.
