My shadow is too fragile :/ Help me figure out what is wrong with my build?

Here are my passives:

I'm kind of new so I'm just doing whatever. I'm using claws, and I'm relying on high evasion and using whirling blades on groups of mobs to help. I'm also getting HP nodes for more survivability, but it's still not enough. Should I go for iron reflexes or something? What are your thoughts?
I can solve your problem. Evasion is garbage at low levels. Iron Reflexes will improve your surviability though.

What sort of character are you aiming for? I presume a claw melee build?

For any melee build you should not currently go for a purely evasion-based defense as that can get you killed by that single hit that finally connects on the fourth, fifth or sixth try.

As a short-term measure the life nodes you started taking should help you the most. Also any gear has +life.
So what should I do? Should I start over, or is this normal? Should I get more health and evasion, or make a bee line to iron reflexes?

if you want to get iron reflexes, you'll have to spend another 8 points to get to unwavering stance for your iron reflexes to be useful. in that case, you might as well be a duelist if you want to dual wield, use iron reflexes and unwavering stance. if you're adamant on being a shadow dual claw wielder, I'd say armour/evasion are the way to go, whilst getting high hp points. personally i haven't tried shadow claw build so idk. but i've always felt that shadow CI is so much better, and that doesn't work with claws.

As I said, for the short term you can:
- equip items that give +life. Unless you're sacrificing items that your Evasion rests on, it will help you not dying by having more health.
- chose more life nodes on your next level ups

I haven't leveled up a character with the new passives tree but hitting points where you can have a hard time. Might be your style doesn't fit a particular type of enemy very well. Might be you're missing that last 2% of health/evasion/damage that make the difference between life and death, and the next level up or the right item turn you into a surviving damage-dealer.

You still haven't mentioned what type of character you're going for.
As for your (unknown) playing style, I'll just start guessing you're melee-ing using claws: Don't run into mobs and slash away, be clever about it. Break them up so you're not fighting more than two or three at a time.
If necessary, kite them, hit them, retreat, regen your health, hit them, retreat, regen, repeat.

Iron Reflexes works just fine for me without Unwavering Stance by the way.
Abuse Fire Trap on groups of enemies. My personal feeling is that it is very, very good. Really helps thin out the herd.

I haven't yet tried iron reflexes so I'm not familiar with it. Thanks for enlightening me though. But I do have a question. Are you a melee character? And without evasion,, don't u get hit all the time? And won't you get stunned? Especially since the previous patches have buffed stun?

What different type of characters can I be?

So far all I know is that I use claws, when dealing with groups of mobs, I usually poison some of them, while using whirling blades through the group to quickly regenerate HP. I lay traps if I get the chance, and also use detonate dead as well.

I'm pretty new so I don't have any good equipment either. My amulet increases my max hp though, but that's about it. The rest of my gear is purely evasion.
Shadow can be a ranged character as well. Since you've commited to claws that's probably out of the question.

It sounds like you're doing everything right, using hit&run tactics, only evasion gear etc. What kind of mobs are you having trouble with? Are you using Viper Strike/Double Strike?
