Eternal orb is not for crafting?

First when i saw eternal orb i thought it was created to help with crafting, now i dont think so anymore

example: you use alter on amulet, you get mod that you want, then you use augmentation to get second mod you want, and this is time for eternal orb now which is extremely rare

so now you have 1 shot on regal, if you get crap you need to use extremely rare eternal orb, just to try again with regal

with that in mind all you have is item with 2 great mods, which you need to keep until you grind probably few exalted worth eternal orb, just to try again with regal

If my example is the case only those that use RMT sites will craft

Eternal orb is in my opinion only created when you go from 4L to 5L, and 5L to 6L, nothing else sadly

i would like i am wrong and that there is a chance crafting will benefit from this orb

losing a blue with 2 mods isn't what it was designed for.

its for when you have a 5 link, or perfect 4-5 stat item and you want to save it, before trying fusings or an exalt.

TL;DR - eternal orb is not for crafting for 99% of the people, only use is to secure your 5L item when you go for 6L, and to improve godly items, otherwise it is just another currency orb for 99% of people playing
It is not for Fusings. At all.

Okay, and I saw what you said in your later post. But do keep in mind that GGG themselves intend it to be used to protect the links on your gear - the '1500 fusings' quote.

It was an example. It is intended to help crafting overall. I think the rarity would be somewhere in the exalted range since the challenge page Chris posted said using every orb but a mirror.
Guess an item like this is a good candidate to use an eternal orb on. No point using it to jump from a 5L to a 6L since it doesn't take that many fusings to 5L.

it wont be a perfect item, but it would be a good base to start off from.

I'm guessing the eternal orb will be as rare as a divine or exalted and would very rarely be used.

thats the exact type of item for an eternal orb
Pretty disappointed from the Eternal Orb.

So it is another play thing for the most hardcore/professional players like the mirror.
99% of players will probably never use one.

I wished the drop rate was like Chaos Orb or something, so you could ACTUALLY use it as a "normal" player in your crafting. Not only when you are Kripp and want to make the 60 exalt worth almost perfect chest to a 80 exalt perfect chest...

This is total garbage / useless for the normal players.

Why does GGG only make design fails since OB launch? Very disappointed. This won't help the dwindling player base at all.

It's actually very useful for fusing non-unique items with perfects mods. You can't simply find another copy, since it probably doesn't exist, and if it does, would most definitely cost more than an eternal orb.
lol at people thinking that this new thingie will be used for fusing/linking_sockets ;)

It very much depends how rare it is and its conversion rates. if eternal orb<150 fuse it might be worth using it on a 5L when trying to 6L.

Otherwise i'd gamble to get 5L back again. In my experience i tend to get 5L say on average every 100 fuse. so 150 fuse or less and it could potentially be worth negating the fusing risk.

To say an exalted orb is worth around 80 fuse it would have to be worth 1.5 or so ex for it to not be worth using on a 5L (provided its a good 5L like a lioneyes or something).

Personally i would imagine that this is around the value of the eternal orb.

They cant be so rare that no one is willing to use them. Hence ggg have made a mistake if they are much rarer than exalted orbs.

99% of the Ex Orbs are used as money. Not to make 1 stat more of an item.
Think it would be the same with an eternal orb.

Only the rich people in the game, would use it to save a part.
