whats with all these hardcore players crying about where the characters are going to end up when they die?

if you are playing hardcore and your character dies, it should disappear for good.

softest hardcore of any game ever, log out macros, alt+f4core, characters just move to the more popular league when dead etc.

oh and this patch is a character wipe. regular default and standard are essentially legacy leagues ala closed beta and exactly how wipes have taken place so far.

the only reason the new leagues are 4 month long is so they can wipe it again in 4 months and start a new league.

Also noticed almost all the rogue exiles are covered in MXT :P I like the subtle advertising, ant tbh I probably will buy more when i see how cool it looks as I'm getting pummeled by things like that. Love all you do for this game GGG, you're fraking awesome.

I missed any hardcore player "crying" about anything. All the hardcore players I know do delete the toon when it dies. What good is softcore items if you never play it?

you can judge a games depth by how quick they have to reset everything. them having to reset everything a few months into open beta after promising no more character wipes is embaressing and bullshit.

this is exactly how all character wipes were done in closed beta.. you could stay on the legacy league and play without the new updates.

I don't have a million hours to play on games like you apparently do, I worked hard and made a high level character that I thought could be a character I could enjoy for a long while, apparently i'll be enjoying him on a dead server (in reality no I won't.. hes already dead.. like most im not even playing on legacy league just waiting for the new server to play.. no point in wasting time on a character right before a wipe).

so I will have to play a new character.. in the middle of summer.. whos playing tons of poe in the middle of summer? eww.

My only complaint is I just deleted afew 60+ characters I had no plans of re-using lol. Oh well, rerolling is always fun.

Amazing job GGG, don't listen to all the negativity. This patch is golden and the complainers would complain no matter what you do.

Incredible patch, thank you! Btw, if you read this, please consider increasing the width of the energy shield display of CI characters to possibly the whole region of the health bar as it is a lot less alarming than being near death on a HP-based character. Thank you! :)

you are miss quoting them and misunderstanding character wipes.
They said that your characters will not be reset to level 1 ever again after it went open beta...that constitutes as a character wipe, as you are keeping your level, gear, gems and currency it is not considered a wipe.
They also said that they would try their damnedest to not do a full respec but depending on changes to the tree or significant game changes that would effect builds they may need to.
