Teaser of Anarchy League

Personally, I'll wait and see what the patch actually does before lighting my torch and grabbing my pitchfork.

But that's just me. You guys go ahead and hate away.

Haven't seen this pointed out yet but:

I think adding 2 more permanent leagues risk fragmenting the player base even more. Trading is near impossible as it is and less players will make it more so.

I love the game but trading needs to be sorted out if you plan to split us up more.

Jumping from WP to WP posting an item in trade does work most of the time, so the players are there, but it's such a hassle, Chris. It really is off-putting.

According to my metrics/estimates, there will be more users in each league after the change than before. But yes, I agree that trading could be made easier! It's coming (albiet not super soon).

I've spent much of six years arguing that trading should not be easy. I still believe that. The way we're making trade easier is not the way you're probably thinking.

The problem is that trading is easy, if you have enough time. The split between "traders" and "players" skyrockets with every week. As everywhere, your gear is not related to if you play well by how well you spam and scam on trade chat.

You lost your battle by just allowing trade, with your approach I'm quite surprised that there still is no "self-found" league.

In my case, I have to choose, trading or playing. It means, that probably I will never see an exalt or 6L in my stash and to be honest, I'm more and more bored with grinding LT for hours to get few alteration... When you publish patch notes, I think, whoa what new unique, should I be exited? And no, because I will probably never drop it, so fu** it...

And it ends with tabs of small currency, as I can't buy anything useful for it and I have no time for it and using it for gambling (sorry but I'm unable to call it "crafting") it's just a waste of time...

Probably it's the same scenario for other players, after leveling few chars they just got bored with stagnancy, no time for trade, poor drops so no upgrades and no progress.

I wish I can share your optimism Chris but I'm quite worried about future of this game, quite a pity, as I like its design (except of desync and freezes which kills my chars quite regularly).

IMO making trading easier will have positive impact on majority of players in standard league and you have possibility to make would-be-cut-throats-ninja-scammers happy with league crated for them.

This.

I find myself really bored at level 81 grinding Catacombs and 66-67 maps because I still wear a 4L and have no currency. I don't like trading that much, and I've wasted what little currency I find trying to gamble better items. It would have been far better to trade/spend that currency than use it, but I like the fun of making/finding my own stuff, so I often use it instead, to my all too soon regret. :\ I have no idea how many fusings I've spent on a 6 socket astral plate trying to get 5L, but I've sold what few orbs I have found for more. I have no idea how anyone accumulates any amount of wealth, I've never had more than ~5 chaos and 30 alchs. No one will take my alchs either, even if I offer them for less than they're worth. I think 3 GCPs have dropped for this character, and I've seen one Divine on another character since OB started. How are there so many exalteds in circulation when they never drop? There's no recipe. How are there 20+ exalteds in so many people's stashes?
I love this game, I really do. But what good is RNG on RNG on RNG at .0001% levels in an attempt to keep the game alive when it results in a loss of any feeling of progress, and people reach their limit of mindlessly grinding for a week with no gains.
Someone mentioned in the Eternal Orb speculation thread that it doesn't matter WHAT the orb does, because no one will ever use it. It will only be traded for whatever value its rarity imparts. Truer words have never been spoken.

This game takes me back to Diablo III when I feel like I need to sell anything I find in order to purchase an upgrade from somebody else.

tl;dr: rng is rng, orbs are not to ever be used, only traded. Someone tell me how to accumulate wealth, cuz I can't run alched 69+ maps with bad mods, and I find about 2 chaos a week.

its simple. seems you are playing solo. DONT! if you play in a party -> you instantly get more of everything. solo is a waste of time
IGN: CyganuHipsterDischarge
im guessing some sort of user created builds which players have to fight through
aye you said it best....dont use your currency to try and craft your own upgrades....you save ALL your currency and try to buy what you want from some body else. which is a shame cause the game gives the impression that hey if you find a decent base item you can craft it in to some thing useful. which yes you can as long as you have around 1000 of every thing then you might have enough currency to power through all the RNG RNG RNG RNG RNG RNG RNG loops to finally get some thing useable. but after watching a few twitch streams it would seem that even that wouldnt be enough. isnt there a guy out there that has spent around 3500 fussing trying to 6 link his bow? i cant remember the exact numbers but its just silly to call that much RNG crafting.
