item level of crafted items ?
What is the item level of crafted items ?
I used orb of chance on a death bow from vendor and got deaths harp unique. How is item level calculated now? If it was drop, it would have been ilvl of a monster it dropped from. What if it was crafted from normal item? |

uniques dont care about ilvl
I think I read this somewhere anyways |

" it does when it comes to number of sockets. My Craft Logs-thread/359202

" That's why I'm asking... Don't want to waste orbs if there's no way to get more sockets. |

Pretty sure the item level doesn't change when you use an orb on it.
Should be easy enough to test using /itemlevel before and after. http://guildmedieval.com/

lol item level of an item is always constant. it never changes no matter what you do.
however if you need certain sockets, then always use uniques with itemlevel 50 or higher so you can assure that you can get 6 socks Last edited by iHaku#0909 on May 13, 2013, 2:20:25 PM

" thats kind of my question... If it dropped in cruel or merciless it would be higher ilvl than drop from normal. But does this apply on crafted items ? Would there be difference if I craft it in different difficulty? AFAIK it can be crafted only from "death bow" which is always around ilvl30 if I'm not wrong. So uniques ilvl 50+ can only drop? no way to craft such high ilvl ? |

I think you are mixing terms. Crafting is different from whether the item was dropped or purchased from a vendor.
Crafting simply means you used an orb on an item to alter its properties. That item could be a drop or could come from a vendor. Regardless, the item has an itemlevel that is determined by one of four means: http://en.pathofexilewiki.com/wiki/Itemlevel That itemlevel does not change when you use an orb on it. In your case, you obtained a bow from a vendor. The itemlevel of that normal item depended on which difficulty and act you were in when you purchased it. That same type of bow could have easily dropped from a monster and may have a different itemlevel than the one the vendor sold you. Hope this clears things up for you! http://guildmedieval.com/

Pretty sure ilevel stays the same.
If it changed, there would be no point in looking for higher leveled ones and people would be walkin around with level 100s. Scour/Orb/Scout/Orb/Scour/Orb til ilevel 100. GGG gives me Diablo 2 Teleport? I give them 50 bucks. No questions asked.

" kind of. So the unique is same ilvl as the base item. So if I understand right, there's no way to craft high ilvl uniques unless the base item is same ilvl. The point is, how can be such item crafted? One would need base item with such high ilvl, however this cannot be dropped or bought. In my case, base item is death bow = ilvl ~30, droped or vendor in Act3 Normal. I'm not sure if this "low" item can drop in merciless... also vendor has different items for sale. But yes, this answered my question. Thank you. |
