I'm one of those non-existent players that stopped playing 0.2 less than 7 days after its release.
And the issue for me is that the endgame is not rewarding enough for the time spent. I'm not going into any depth here since the problem has been overstated.
For the self-deluded white knights on this forum, can you try counting how play respondents replied in agreement with the OP's general sentiment that the game is losing players and 0.2 sucks compared to 0.1?
I'm sure most people that stopped playing PoE2 don't waste their time here unless they actually give a fuck about the game's future.

True. I voice my opinion here but my brother and his son just stopped playing within days. For them it was just unrewarding, not fun experience and play something else. I wish I could care less.

Not everyone plays the game every day. Not everyone plays the game at the same time every day. People will naturally play more often and for longer sessions when new content is available.
If 100 people play the game on Monday, 50 from 5-10PM and 50 from 9PM to midnight, the peak daily player count will be 100. If those same 100 people play on Tuesday but half of the first group stops at 8PM then the peak count will be 75.
100 peak players on Monday, 75 on Tuesday. Same 100 people. Nobody had to quit to change the numbers.
None of this is to say that games want to see their DAU falling, but watching you guys just completely mangle this analysis every day with strings of exclamation points like you're announcing a soccer game is just f'ing cringe dude.

For one every other white mob can just 2 hit you when you have max resistance
so keeping that in mind having mobs under the map that ambush you and ones that rush you from out of your screen and do a aoe slam just makes your game feel like shit because you just die when you enter areas
\ Mobs also not being able to be rolled though and just get pushed into the small ass spaces make mapping aids, sure have small spaces but come on let us have some kind of fucking movement
The atlas tree finding zones of corruption is mind boggling worse than what you had before it just locks you time gated style and thats not fun, Points for rituals and breaches are also insanely unfun seeing you lock them behind hard to find mats and experiences one at that

than theres how shit your auto lock is and oml im shocked this game has not lost alot more poeple tbh
This is literal bullshit, if you just would get the basics of any character work and give them some more love, you wouldn't have that issues. A few ex are enough to reach that if you not just conc on damage alone...
Leading enemies to surround you and being unable to escape is a skill issue. The farming for corrupted zones is understandeable, but not anyone has to enjoy it I guess.

Buddy, you are cringe as much as that fantasy of yours that most players didn't left the sinking ship already... Sure there will come back some for the new patches and to see how it will further develop, but you cannot ignore that the reviews on steam are "mostly negative" atm. They need to fix something about the game or they will loose many more.

How about Steam reviews? Would be interested in how you explain them, if the steam numbers have no actual value for you, even if the season actually just started :/
I really hope it is as you guys want to believe it is, but I doubt it.
Not only cause many are mad about the current course of the game, not cause PoE 1 got simply abandoned at this point and not cause the game is atm just buggy and not fun for most, but cause they just repeated the same mistake they did with 0.1.0, which they reversed for 0.2.0 just to make the same experiences again... Hopefully they will get it right.
