My reasons why I'm probably tapping out of POE2 again.
Let me just preface this by saying that GGG have made a lot of good changes since 0.2, but in some cases its too little too late for a lot of players.
My 4 main pain points are the following: Item progression, defences, pinnacle bosses and trade. Lets start with Items. Buffing the drops from bosses is not a solution to the core problem. The issue here is that there are just so many points of failure for progressing an item. We are presented with multiple problems to solve via items yet no solutions. We don't need more items, we need better items. I'm beyond tired of rolling t1 affixes on level 80+ items or seeing them on t5 drops. No one at that point in the game needs that, I would love to see the floor of tiers increased on higher item level items. Recombination is a bust because its just so insanely weighted against success. I've already lucked out finding 2 rolls I want to combine, then if the less than 10% chance combines, I still have 4 more slams of failure to even get the good item. Just give it to us man, items are not real life diamonds and players should not spends weeks without upgrades. Defences, same as has been said before. Energy shield or bust. Evasion builds need WAY MORE life. A simple solution is massively increase life rolls on evasion and armour bases to let players get to around the 4k mark. Pinnacle bosses... Energy shield or one shot, no exceptions. running evasion builds on the current balance of bosses means that if you get touched, you are dead. Hours of grinding the fragments/splinters down the toilet because the bosses are wildly over tuned for energy shield. One shot abilities should exist, but they should be well telegraphed and limited, not every single ability or abilities that repeat multiple times. Blasters are going to blast the bosses in a second regardless of the one shot abilities, all this does is hurt the average player with average items and builds. Due to item problems it becomes incredibly difficult to solve this issue at high levels. I can't switch to ES/EV right now because I simply can't find the items I need without trading. Trade..trading is a great tool, and should be used but right now its the only reasonable method to get the items that you need. The economy is destroyed thanks to rampant RMT and price fixing. The entire game is balanced around trade instead of natural progression from playing the game. I really believe trading should be supplemental, not the main method of progression and a tool to rush items or solve a very specific gear need. Out of these issues Items has to be the main pain point for me. There is no dopamine hit, there is no reward outside of currency drops. I would love to see the devs try hit a 3/6 rolled spear or solve a specific armour problem in a reasonable time, not even a mirror item. I want this game to be great as it's the best feeling arpg out there even with all its flaws. GGG just needs to let go of this scarcity mindset imo and let players get stronger or solve problems in a much more reasonable time from actual gameplay rewards. For me the biggest pain points are gear and currency. You can slog through to endgame with half of your gear from acts 2 and 3, but at some point you pick up more bases than you can actually craft (gamble) on because the currency runs dry. I do not want to be forced into the trade system to progress my gear, I want to do it myself, that is why SSF exists does it not?
But it's not just currency for gear, where are the jewellers orbs and gem cutters prisms? These items are lacking and they are vital for experimenting with other builds. Being stingy with this currency means players lock into a specific build and are not encouraged to try things. This is early access, we should be trying things so that the game can be balanced for the full release. And final point regarding both gear and the skill tree is that there is way too much conditional additive damage. Meeting some of these conditions is tough enough and then you get a tiny burst damage window where you get to capitalise on what amounts to a 2% increase in damage provided you have actually met the break point conditions. Speaking of break point conditions and bad nodes take some of the crit damage nodes such as 15% increased crit chance. If your weapon base is 5% and you take a single 15% increased node, your crit chance will still be 5%. I know they wanted to make crit harder to come by, but in many cases it's better to spec into some kind of flat damage and forget about crit all together. |

" Been in t15+ maps for over a week and I've had 3 greater jewellers and 0 perfect. way too rare |

I've said it elsewhere they have balanced the game around streamers with a team behind them feeding them gear. Screw us casuals we aren't giving them free advertising.
