Mana Leech vs Life Leech. GGG, please clarify.

Hi everyone,

I’ll keep this short. I’ve built a Blood Mage setup focused on casting lots of mid-damage spells. It includes Rathpith Globe and some solid items. I can share a PoB if needed.

Here’s the issue: I can’t sustain the 6% cost per cast from Rathpith Globe. I get that high-damage spells like Ice Comet might work, but what about other playstyles? Or if the idea is lots of small hits, is it just “sorry, mate, leech isn’t for you”?

I tested leech on another character, my Physical Kitava, using a physical spear—mid damage, frequent hits. Interestingly, I regen mana with leech just fine, but health leech doesn’t work. The leech values are close: 6% for health and 7% for mana. The difference shouldn’t be that noticeable, but it is—health leech just isn’t happening.

GGG, is this a bug, or did you intentionally nerf character survivability this way?

Thanks!

There's a hidden mechanic that reduces life leech significantly. Like "life leech resist" on monsters or something to that effect. So, 5% Life Leech is not the same as 5% Mana leech. (Bad design)

Thanks for the clarification! I hope they’ll redesign the mechanic, as it’s currently useless for many builds due to the high leech resistance. It’s interesting that they nerfed our damage but kept the threshold the same. Hopefully, they’ll adjust it soon!
