Console Performance is STILL Horrendous – We Need Acknowledgment and Updates
Dear GGG,
First, I want to say that I’ve been a fan of Path of Exile for years, and I was incredibly excited to jump into PoE2 on PS5. I even supported the game early through the pre-purchase program with full faith that the console experience would eventually receive the attention and polish it deserves. Unfortunately, it’s now been over four months since the early access launch, and console players — particularly on PS5 — have seen zero communication and no tangible improvements to performance. As someone who has invested time and money into your game, I find the lack of updates or even acknowledgment from GGG regarding the state of consoles deeply frustrating and discouraging. The situation gets worse as you progress: once you hit the endgame, the frame rate drops become so severe that the game becomes nearly unplayable. This isn't just about minor hiccups — it's a persistent issue that completely undermines the experience. The core gameplay loop is built on fluid combat and responsive movement, and right now, console players are simply not getting that experience. What’s most disheartening is the complete silence. No roadmap. No patch notes aimed at optimization. No posts or dev comments addressing whether these issues are even being worked on. It feels like we’ve been left in the dust, despite supporting the game from day one. I’m asking — not just for myself, but on behalf of the console community — for transparency. Please let us know: Are performance improvements on PS5 and other consoles currently in development? Is there an ETA for optimization patches? Will console players be kept in the loop going forward? We love this game. We want to keep playing it. But continuing to grind through a slideshow just isn't sustainable. Please acknowledge the issue and communicate with your console player base. We deserve that much. Sincerely, A Concerned Console Player Last bumped on Apr 14, 2025, 7:26:07 AM

They acknowledged it like more than 3 months ago and nothing else in one of the bigger posts with 30+ pages. They will not fix probably anything before official release i bet.

To be fair, I did see the performance improvement on my XSX comparing very start. However it's still not good enough, referring the performance of D4.

" Fresh player speaking (PS5 Pro): I had a look at the fps over the course of the 3 acts. Act 1 - I started on NIS with the highest quality setting just to see how it looks. Initially it was okay, but I quickly changed to 77% resolution. The first yellow spirit was running into another boss, and the overlapping effects of a single player with barely any skill that leaves visual effects already made me drop quality to the lowest level possible just so it doesnt stutter (without dynamic culling or dynamic resolution). Act 2 - I tried whether FSR or PSSR will improve anything, but who could have guessed, the AI does worse and looks worse. Act 3 - no, if the game was sold in this state, it should be illegal business. On PC I wouldnt mind, because I always could be convinved my crap hardware doesnt perform, but with quality/performance options on a console, the "fastest" option should always deliver solid fps. Otherwise the game engine is a fail. |

I'm tired of writing about how bad the game is on consoles. But the developers are doing nothing.
Spent many hours to complete the campaign, it was hard to play. But in the endgame it is impossible to play on high cards, the fps drops a lot. |
