The Question of 3.26 and PoE1

Settlers of Kalguur is soon approaching being 12 months old, the longest running league to date. While we had filler such as Necro-Settlers and Phrecia, many players want new content.

It seems that Gold, Faustus and the Currency Exchange were welcome additions. However Kingsmarch with Shipments and Mappers were slightly unethical in the vast amounts of currency being dumped in the game without actual gameplay (besides specifically farming gold).

In 3.26 it would be interesting if they kept Gold and Faustus, but removed Kingsmarch for a new League mechanic that expended Gold. I heard people talking about having idols from Phrecia as jewels in the Atlas Tree, which could be interesting. Though it would make more sense if the jewels were limited and only really accessible when reaching red maps.

It's a broken promise that GGG is working on PoE2 solely and neglecting PoE1. Hopefully we'll get an announcement for PoE1 soon. It's sad that we're in a state where we'd be lucky to have 1 new league a year for PoE1. Pretty sure people are fed up of Settlers.

The only "interesting" part here, is whether or not we'll see 3.26 at all.

But yes, gold should be added to the core game alongside the currency exchange and gold respec. We've had a year of Kingsmarch now, so they can just let that town rot away in PoE2, and cleanse it from PoE1. Been there, done that - so to speak.

I don't really care what they'll do with idols. They were a fun gimmick as an event, but I don't really think they'll fit the game as a core mechanic in the long run. But a socketable atlas passive tree? It IS an interesting idea.

But for all of this to become a reality, Mark needs to sneak in some PoE1 workhours while Jonathan isn't looking, because one thing is certain; Jonathan hates PoE1.

GGG: go to POE2
or AFK
At this point they have set themselves up for failure.
3.26 needs to be absolutely perfect, significantly better than anything that came before. Anything less will just be a disappointment.

Worse, after the disastrous mess that PoE2 is.. 3.26 could be the last nail in the coffin for the company as a whole if it's a flop. Everyone knows PoE2 is truly awful, not even remotely a successor to PoE1 especially 0.2/10

Some competent leadership is needed ASAP, I'd love to see Mark given the reins so that he can cast off the dead weight and let PoE soar again!
I think GGG is deliberately wishy-washy on the future of POE1 because they want to first see how things progress with this Ubisoft The Crew class-action lawsuit.

I think that GGG will likely follow the lead of D3 and recycle league mechanics - hopefull a couple at a time to make things interesting. For me, that would be enough and unless I am clueless about how difficult it would be to code all this in it should be relatively easy thus not taking many resources away from POE2.
