Epic Suggestion for better navigation through maps.
Hi,
Just have a simple but impactful suggestion - make it so players in maps can use their portal as a Checkpoint. This way we can drop a portal at a spot we know we'll want to go back to (like a 4 mod essence for example) and navigation around maps would be sooooooo much better. While it's appreciated the efforts to put more checkpoints in (RAVINE needs more), letting players set a spot as a Checkpoint would solve a lot of the checkpoint issues, and since we already have a portal we can control where it is, it'd be a high value and low effort feature to incorporate. I will say this is working pretty well in POE1 currently. May not be applicable for POE2, but I have been using it quite a bit lately in Phrecia and it is pretty user friendly since the portal updates that let you cast it from hotkey.

Again, my mistake - I was meaning to post this to the POE2 forums. POE2 has a checkpoint system in maps to backtrack easier, etc. Unless they changed POE1 to add this checkpoint system since the last time I played it, I don't think my idea applies to POE1, where you can just refresh your portal location to come back into from your hideout if you die.
In POE2, you don't go back to hideout when you die, you go to nearest checkpoint. Even if you relog, you log back in where you were in the map, rather than in your hideout. So other than leaving a map to do a trade or when you're done the map, there isn't much utility in your portal's location. Anyways its a POE2 suggestion, not POE1. I considered just deleting this post, as I reposted it to the proper forum. Tru |
