The Loot Floor Is Too Low
|
What do I mean by the loot floor? This would be the amount of loot a player gets if they are incredibly unlucky. What is the worst or close to the worst outcomes in terms of loot going through the campaign?
A common issue brought up by the community is the lack of currency and gear upgrades going through the campaign. Some players pick up a pair of gloves in act 1 with 2 resistances and life, and that's the best rare they'll see throughout the entire campaign for that slot. Some players will get 3 artificer orb's in total going through the entire campaign. Some players only get around 8-10 exalts throughout the entire campaign. The list goes on and on. There is a chunk of the player base, that this isn't a problem for. Unfortunately for the unlucky players, it creates an illusion that things are ok to the developers and to the community. The loot floor needs to be increased to give people fun moments that I think are intended like Upgrading from an old piece of gear to a better new one. Crafting on a better base to make better gear. Crafting on your existing gear to upgrade it. Until the loot floor issue is fixed a large amount of players won't feel like they are getting stronger going through the campaign. Yea if something you get in act 1 is still on then it sounds like players just arent picking things up or checking the vendors. Or using their currency.
Carry over between the acts for me is maybe a piece or two every 1 act, and then its straight back to full on level gear. I feel like people want instant gratification just because they arrived at a new zone, almost the second they get to it. Thats not how the game is and ever will be hopefully. You have to spend some time upgrading. But you def dont use something from act 1 for the rest of the campaign. Youd have to not use transmutes and augmentations at that point. Which would be ridiculous Mash the clean

Agreed. Particularly in trade league, why use a regal or an exalt when you can most definitely get something better for it on the trade site?
You use them 5 times until you’ve learned you’re only rolling 💩, and then you’re like “well I better not use them, and just trade”. Effectively, without trade they’re not abundant enough to roll something decent reliably, but with the context of trade they shouldn’t be much more abundant because you get inflation. Perhaps there’s a way to balance the two. I don’t want to suggest account bound consumables, but it serves as a quick (but bad) example solution to fix the problem. |

Remember the feedback from the same large amount of players about 0.1 ?
-IIR is too good. -There is too much loot. -30div per map is too much. All those problems are fixed now. +VLFBERHT+

The problem is the variance of good to bad item is too high. If you get lucky and roll high early on and roll low afterwards you might be stuck with an item that has no good upgrades for multiple acts worth of content which feels terrible.
example: Hitting double or triple phys modifiers on a weapon with attackspeed will put your item way outside the normal power scale. If you dont see that combination on a higher base type for a while, finding an upgrade will take dozens of levels. Another example is + to skill level type caster weapons. Finding a high roll with even 1 other useful modifier means finding an upgrade is incredibly difficult even on significantly higher base level items. instead of constant gearing upgrades it feels more like lucky spikes that last too long and steaks of bad luck absolutely bricking some gear slots during campaign. |

" I actually can't tell if you've even play the game for more than 10 hours. You couldn't be farther from the truth here. People don't pick up weapons because the base of those weapons doesn't improve until 2-3 acts later. The even BIGGER problem is that there isn't nearly enough crafting material to work with. That's why people aren't picking weapons/gear up - it's because they don't have ANY currency to use on it, which means keeping their old equipment is still the best route for them This has nothing to do with instant gratification and everything to do with almost no gratification. People aren't struggling to kill monsters as much as day one, they're instead struggling to upgrade gear to keep up with the pace that the mobs are upgrading throughout the game. It feels like the same repetitive gameplay just to "keep up" and I hope they listen to this specific criticism soon, otherwise many players will move on and quit fast |

" Welp heres just the act progression from me. And this is JUST the weapon slot.

![]() The fact that I can consistently do this on ssf for a single slot kind of makes me wonder how people are playing their games. Saying they use a1 gear for the rest of the campaign. Youd have to NOT use transmutes and augs at that point. " Yea this is a false statement. And if people are doing this, then they are playing the game wrong if they want upgrades. You get improved tiers of weapons based on your level up through the acts AS WELL AS the act tier in vendor shops. 1) Slim mace happens at a level, but is in act 1 (you start with wooden club) 2) Plated mace happens at a level, but is in act 2 (you start with spiked) I dont remember the specific level these start showing up in the shops but you definitely focus on basetypes and picking them up/vendor buying them based on the skill/tree you are using. Mash can't understand that other people aren't getting enough loot to drop or aren't getting the lucky rolls he is getting at points in the game where we literally have nothing to slam with and no gamba gold since those all ended up on bricked outcomes too. Hilariously sad PoV

" You're either insanely lucky, only picking up one-handed maces, or both. How did you have enough exalts to use on those? or alch"s? I've had less than 10 exalted orbs and only maybe 5 ish orbs of alchemy this whole campaign so far. I use the exalts on more than just my weapon too obviously - so I always have multiple items that arent more with more than 3 mods. I suggest you look at other posts talking about loot - there are many and they're all saying the same things |

" Done this multiple times already. Did it trade league on .1 and then ssf on .1 and now this same thing on .2 but now im just ssf this time. This is a single slot. Just the weapon. RNG is just not in the conversation anymore. And it is certainly not when someone states they "use stuff from act 1 all the way to the end of the campaign" I have had maybe the same amount of currency. Probably less alchs think only 2 have dropped. Both used on jewelry both not usable. You have to check the vendors every level up. I check them, uncluding the 2 camps in actIII (infested barrens/jungle ruins) 10 levels overcap they stop having more than 3 items. The act 1 to 2 mace took awhile for me as well. It was probably 3/4 way through act 2 I finally got that. I did try to gamble like once but got nothing from it and didnt do it again. Will gamble endgame usually.
