Legacy of Phrecia had 90k on the first day, 77k the second, and steadily declined after that. Those were the players getting the MTX and then going back to PoE2. I was on Phrecia for 2 days to hit 80 then quit.

PoE has had many updates over the years, and its highest all-time peak player turnout was Settlers of Kalguur with 228,398 players.

Player counts have never been as high as PoE2. PoE2's current player count 5 days after launch (180,504) is almost as high as PoE1's all-time peak(228,398) on Kalguur launch day. PoE2 has broken regularly, and had 578,562 players on launch.




But this doesn't matter. It's the bandwagon fallacy.
Stick to trying to articulate your points constructively, instead of making generalize pronouncements and implicit threats that GGG will fail if they don't listen to you. Clearly they're doing fine.

If you have specific issues with PoE2 we should talk about those instead. Not compare player counts. Try to be more ingenuous.


Phrecia isn't a league, it was an event on settlers. Same as necro settlers, of course people are fed up with the idle mechanic already after almost a year.

233k on steam, now count 60% of the player base on top of it because they are on standalone.

Meanwhile PoE2 sold over 1 million keys, 500 returned to 0.2, 200k approximately still play, 300k already done with the league after not one week. That's a whooping player loss of 80% players.

It doesn't look good for the game and it gets roasted left and right by literally every veteran on social media.


no you are wrong there's no 60% playerbase on standalone idk how you even came up with that figure majority of players is on steam as proven by ggga numbers and your argument could be said about poe2 numbers too since it also has standalone client players
Yup. The interview with Ziz really put a bad bad taste in my mouth with the game director. You can't behave like that! its very unprofessional ! He needs to be accountable and LISTEN to his devs and the community.

PoE 2 has MAJOR PROBLEMS since 0.2.0. And his answer is to double down on bad things? Come on! Mark WANTS to listen, MARK wants to make the game better and take community suggestions etc, but Jonathan kept interjecting, talking over him and Ziz, and throwing a fit cause he wants to play his vision and his vision only and f the community. That wont last. Player drop off has started fyi. 0.2.0 was high... lost what 70k players already? And things dont change, every week more and more players will bleed away. I want PoE 2 to be fun!! I loved 0.1.x !!!!! Then he f'd it all up!!! ITS NOT what I paid for!
