Inspiration on a Stormweaver using all 3 elements
Hi, i asked my wife what element to play and she said fire. So i tried to build something blind and quickly moved away from a pure fire build as the early game with NON-MINION fire was...bad.
Now that the HC SSF char died at 43, i am looking for a bit of streamlining to have a semblance of something useful. So, what i want is a build which utilizes cold, lightning and fire spells roughly equally so that i can use nodes like Stormbreaker. So far i basically used flamewall with Spark to clear the screen with help of Frost Bomb, it works well, it does decent damage on normal and it provides decent protection as well as getting ignite, chill and (occasionally) shock on the enemies. Main damage was Spark with Rising Tempest for 36% more damage after casting Flame Wall and Frost Bomb. Also had Arcane Tempo and COnduction, the latter because i don't seem to shock trash as much as i would like even with it. I then used Ember Fusillade on Bosses, it's the only time i feel the skill is actually good and as i was tasked to use Fire, i kept it as my Boss Damage Skill. It's still not great. Ad again Frost Bomb for added Damage and chill/freeze and the occasional Spark as well. First Ascendency i picked Elemental Storm because i did not have a source of Exposure yet and it did not feel like i needed Arcane surge at that time. I definitely should have picked it though :D Last thing i did (and the reason i died) was experimenting with cast on ignite and shock and then running into the golden smithy boss and not having the damage or the mana. But i found that for killing trash, cast on at this stage is kinda worthless to me, because it takes me literally half a map to triggr cast on shock with Spark and cast on ignite using Flame Wall might as well not do anything. I experimented with Solar orb to kill bosses with cast on Ignite and that was fine, but the skill SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUXXX beside that. And i tried using Ball Lightning with cast on shock but with trash i simply did not reach the min shock threshhold apparently using the skill. So here i am , i am looking for 3 or 4 skills that synergize well enough to clear content and have to be from al 3 elements. And if they could utiliz cast on ailments i would love that, cause that's basically what i have going for this kind of build. None of the above skills are mandatory at all, i thought flamewall would synergyze well with eye of winter and Ball lightning though... :D Last bumped on Apr 12, 2025, 5:49:39 AM

Okay, i am now level 61 and the build is working, but i am still not sure i like it that much :D

With the new update, it is pretty easy to get lightning and fire damage cause we can now cast it over orbs. So my usual rotation is Frost Orb, Orb of Ligthning, Flamewall, Eye of winter. Works decently. However. Well, i don't like the Lightning part of things. Basically, Orb of Lightning is only cast to buff Eye of Winter, it does nothing on it's own. It does not shock anything, the damage is super low. I can't use it to get Lightning Exposure. I am not even sure i should use anything but a level 3 gem on it. Before i was using Arc to try to get shock on mobs, but shock chance seems to have been super low. Kinda weird, that it is easier to shock a boss compared to a white zombie. Ball lightning was shocking slightly better but damange was incredibad. Apparently the lightning part of Eye of Winter is now shocking bosses quite frequently, no clue why, but i do not like it, cause i would love to have a support skill early in the rotation to do that. But with the damage i am doing on lightning spells, it does not work. Second thing is very similar, i would like to add Solar Orb to gain the extra fire damage. I could also use Temporal Chains with Burning Inscription, but that is another spell in the rotation, not sure this is worth it. Any help would be appreciated :) |
