The only upgrade we need to get is to play better games and give the middle finger GGG deserves by not supporting crappy game design and the absolute absence of optimization.

12 core Ryzens are an AMD scam. They contain two pieces of silicon called CCDs. Communication between these CCDs causes enormous delays.
Theoretically weaker 8-core AMD CPUs are or may be better suited for gaming than 12-core AMD CPUs. Ryzens 7 7700X, 9700X and especially 7800X3D and 9800X3D with additional cache are a much, much better choice for gamers. On the other hand. There are also a few builds that lag every PC. The game engine needs a lot of time, work and love. PoE2 should not be as unstable as it was at the beta launch and now is. Last edited by liquidu#8269 on Mar 1, 2025, 7:43:55 AM

" I run Linux fedora 41, well Nobara to be exact: Vulkan Driver. AMD 5900 and a 7800xt And i have barely any drops while mapping. It stays around 80 almost all the time. No drops below 60 i can see except in act 2 or 5, but thats not a map. You cna get stable 100 fps. 4090 gets up to 150fps stable Last edited by Alzucard#2422 on Mar 1, 2025, 8:04:13 AM

I use a Lenovo Legion low-mid tier gaming laptop with Ryzen 7 and RTX 4060.
The game runs perfectly fine. There have been myriad suggestions on optimising the game settings for those with issues but I understand it can be cathartic to bitch and moan on the forums cause you can't play so obviously everyone else is having the exact same issue |

" This is what ChatGPT collects over the Internet Based on the search results, Path of Exile 2 (PoE2) appears to be facing significant CPU and graphics optimization issues14. Many players are experiencing high CPU usage, low performance, and frequent frame rate drops, even on high-end systems14. Key Observations CPU Usage: Players report extremely high CPU usage, often spiking to 100%, especially in cities and during combat scenarios4. This issue persists regardless of graphics settings adjustments1. Frame Rate Issues: Users experience frequent FPS drops, with some reporting as low as 25-55 FPS in certain areas, particularly in towns and endgame activities4. Graphics Settings: Changing graphics options seems to have minimal impact on performance, suggesting that the issues are primarily CPU-bound rather than GPU-related4. Inconsistent Performance: Some areas and situations (like the caravan, savannah map, and hourglass room in Sekhemas) are reported to perform significantly worse than others1. Hardware Independence: These issues appear to affect a wide range of hardware configurations, from mid-range to high-end systems |

I'm running PoE2 on a 1981 IBM PC with an Intel 8088 CPU @ 4.77 MHz with 16 KB of RAM. Graphics card is an MDA, 8-bit ISA card with a Motorola 6845 display controller with 4 KB of RAM.
PoE2 runs a buttery smooth 240fps STABLE. This is a skill issue. Git Gud. |

Yeah the game is not optimized but I did upgrade my video card recently and the game does run much better, it's just that sometimes it drop below 60 and it shouldn't happens. I mean we get it, it's a known issue and we hope it will be fixed before release.
