PoE 2 Crafting Feels Different, But I Kinda Like It 🥂

Stockholm syndrome? Bro, I just like farming high-tier gear instead of spending all day in the hideout.

I also like throwing orbs on items.
But they should drop more often to get at least smth meaningful. Esp orb of annulment.
You have an interesting take on the situation.

But personnally the problem I have with this kind of way is there just so much failure and never get what I actually want that it suck the fun out of it. That's why I'm more inclined to prefer a determenistic way.
I liked crafting up until around level 90. I never traded items with other players, and at level 90 crafting with orbs is not producing any better gear for me. I would probably dislike crafting if I had been very unlucky with orbs. Crafting, items, and end game all need some serious work overall though imo.

Considering the amount of Exalted orbs that drop in comparison to PoE1, I don't mind the crafting system in PoE2.

It's a slot machine. GGG relies too much on horrible RNG which is why the game feels so unrewarding to most players who hope to find good loot drops or want to craft something nice but have nothing but bad luck. This forces you to try and trade, and that is an equally bad experience since most people never get anyone to respond to them.

Go gamble in a Las Vegas casino. You will have far better luck there and at least win something. The game should have better RNG than a real casino, but it doesn't. Seriously.
I get why it feels that way, but I think PoE 2 is just designed so you’re not meant to force-craft perfect gear like in PoE 1. It’s more about playing, farming, and making do with what you find. Not saying the system is perfect, but I don’t think it’s just a slot machine either. As for trade, I think it’s fine as it is. Having Alva/Fautus as exchange currency already makes it way smoother.

It's made like this to build a healthy bot/RMT market. Which seems to be already working well.

Not sure if you're talking about crafting or trading, but I don't think either of them is designed just to push RMT. PoE 2's crafting is just a different approach. In PoE 1, you could force-craft perfect gear with enough currency and guides, but even then, making a perfect item wasn’t easy, it took a lot of skill and farming to make enough currency.

In PoE 2, the focus is more on playing and farming for high-tier gear instead of spending hours crafting in the hideout. Sure, there’s more RNG involved, but it also makes finding good items more rewarding. I get that some people don't like the randomness, but I don’t think it was designed to help botters.
