PoE 2 Crafting Feels Different, But I Kinda Like It 🥂

Alright, before anyone gets triggered, please stay calm. I know a lot of people want the crafting bench in PoE 2, and I get why. In PoE 1, you had some control. If your item was missing a resist or life, you could just craft it on. It made things way less stressful.

But honestly? I kinda like the way PoE 2 crafting works. It’s more about rolling with what you get instead of fixing up a piece step by step. Yeah, it’s riskier, but that also makes it more exciting when you land something good. It’s less about planning the "perfect" item and more about making the best of what drops.

Feels like that’s the whole point of PoE 2. It’s not just PoE 1 with better graphics, it’s a different experience. I know not everyone is into it, but personally, I find it kinda refreshing.

What do you guys think? Hate it? Love it? Just waiting to see how it plays out?

My favorite crafting bench is any roulette table in Las Vegas. Sure, I may win once in a blue moon but in the end I always lose everything. It's so exciting.
Crafting???? No no no. GAMBAAAAAA
Yeah, PoE 2 crafting has that casino feel, but that’s kinda the point. It’s not just PoE 1 with better graphics, it’s a different experience. In PoE 1, I had to look up a ton of guides just to craft one item. In PoE 2? I just go 'ye boi, exalt slam' and see what happens. I’m not saying PoE 1 crafting is bad, I love PoE 1, but PoE 2 just makes it way more simple (or as you guys call it, GAMBAAA).

Yeah, the point is to fan the flames of gambling addiction in gambling addicts and foster gambling addiction in people prone to it.

What this guy said. **finger pointing up**
I get what you're saying, but I don’t think PoE 2 is made to encourage gambling. GGG isn’t trying to turn players into gamblers, they just want crafting to be different. In PoE 1, you could sit in your hideout all day following guides and forcing the exact mods you wanted. In PoE 2, the focus is on actually playing the game and farming for high-tier gear, like tier 5 or higher items, instead of just crafting everything from scratch. It’s a different approach, and I think it makes finding good gear feel more rewarding.

I agree completely. I think I actually like crafting in PoE2 more than PoE1, now. For sure, PoE1 has a much more fleshed out crafting system, built up over a decade. But, PoE2 crafting has a sense of finality, that I find very satisfying and refreshing. Even if a ring comes out not that great, at least I feel like its crafting journey is complete, to some degree.

I say that from a SSF perspective.

Its journey isn't complete. That ring gets walked over to the Reforging Bench where it gets combined with two other rings that have been junking up your stash tabs for some length of time just to start the whole process anew.
