Urgent Request to Address the Issue of Automated Bot Farming in POE2

Dear POE2 Official Team,

Hello, I am a Chinese player of Path of Exile 2, and I am writing to bring to your attention a serious issue that is currently affecting the game's economy and overall player experience. In China, there is a widespread problem involving the use of automated scripting tools by both large-scale studios and individual players. These tools allow users to automatically farm in-game resources, often with a single player operating 20 or more accounts simultaneously. This has led to a significant disruption in the game's economy, causing prices to crash and making the items earned by legitimate players virtually worthless.

This issue was already prevalent in the first test server, and unfortunately, it seems irreversible at this point. However, I urge you to take strict measures to address this problem in the upcoming 0.2.0 version. It is crucial to actively monitor and suspend accounts that engage in such activities. A swift and decisive crackdown will deter these users from investing further in automated tools, as they will no longer see it as a viable option.

As a regular player, I, along with many others, find the use of these automated scripts extremely frustrating and detrimental to the game's environment. It severely impacts the enjoyment of those who play the game fairly and legitimately. For POE2 to remain popular and successful in the long term, it is essential for the official team to take a strong stance against such practices. If the situation is managed effectively, we, the players, would be more than willing to support the game by purchasing cosmetic items and other content, thereby contributing to the game's financial sustainability.

I sincerely hope that you will consider increasing the manpower dedicated to monitoring and managing this issue. Your efforts in maintaining a fair and balanced game environment will not go unnoticed and will be greatly appreciated by the community.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Best regards,
A Concerned Chinese Player

I agree. I'm curious what the % of players left are actually bots. Even if it's 5%, it's quite a lot.

I support your point of view, I was just going to post this question, now these cheaters and scripts are becoming more and more crazy, completely destroying the entire game environment, developers should pay attention to immediately, if it will greatly reduce people's enthusiasm to play poe
All according to plan, it seems.

Agreed. They need to aggressively punish bot farming.

I'm fine with tradebots. The ones that buy and flip stuff (price fix, essentially) are pretty annoying, but without tradebots selling items, it would be a lot harder to get trades done.

But for sure GGG need to more aggressively go after the bots that farm maps.

GGG needs to implement an auction house so no need for trade bots. Second, I fully support it but I don't know how they will get rid of them. WOW has had botting for 15 years and blizzard is a huge company and they still can't get rid of them.

+1 OP.

I am sure every in game economy can be bot manipulated in some way. However the difference here is GGG have set up a system designed to be easily manipulated by bots and scammers. Mainly for real money POE currency traders that have paid advertisements on google, microsoft etc.

As the owner of the IP GGG simply need to inform the respective company that they (the currency trading websites) are breaking the law and poof!! No more "buy POE 2 currency NOW" adverts on everything from YT to google news.

I think everyone who isn't a bot/scammer is in agreement the trading system needs measures in place to make market manipulation on a massive scale extremely difficult. In fact if it doesn't change I will personally make an appeal to steam that GGG are not only breaking their terms of service to the customer they are putting steam customers at risk with the myriad of shady 3rd party practices.
