Make exalts worth something again
I think you went too far and made exalts too common and now I could care less if they drop on a map. I used to get a mini dopamine hit when one dropped but that is gone. Exalts may as well be an aug orb. Not to mention the inflation for divine orb exchanges. It still has not reached an equilibrium. Currently at an exchange rate of 450 to 1 and no signs of slowing down. Please consider adjusting the rarity again.

Couldn't disagree more, Exalts are one of the few, if not the only way to craft something (also maps) without losing an eye and a leg.
Don't listen to him and keep exalts as they are please, who care for dopamine, serotonine and melatonine.... |

IMO the drop rate is fine. They just have a poor usage. They were good for trading for awhile, but if you're not looking for lower level gear you may as well be paying with pennies due to the wild market inflation.
They're important to crafting, but whether you have 5 or 500 it doesn't make a difference because the RNG is so god awful that it's not even worth crafting for higher end gear. I'd rather spend 300 exalts trading for 1 piece of gear I know is going to be beneficial to my build that I can just socket/qual/vaal and be done as opposed to spending an hour dumping those same 300 exalts into random base gear in hopes I get something useful. GGG just needs to figure out how to keep them relevant. Last edited by Johnny_Hotbody#4829 on Feb 21, 2025, 6:32:17 PM

Cheaper exalts isn't a bad thing. Makes slamming much more affordable. I've adapted by slamming a lot more items than I used to.
So far I've made at least 10 div by slamming items I wouldn't have if exalts were much more expensive. |

Exalts need to drop like candy so folks aren't afraid of slamming 3x every 5 minutes. Exalts probably shouldn't be the main currency. I saw someone suggested Chaos Orbs would likely be it. I think I agree, as nobody will be using those except the super rich streamers with 500div worth of omens.

To make exalts worth something, they need to have sink value.
It's not only an exalt problem, it's deeper than that. Inflation is out of control because the only value is at the top of the pyramid : mirrors. The divine rate vs a mirror is also a big problem, and anything underneath will have a problem. |

While crafting in POE2 certainly has its limitations, I appreciate that Exalts and Regals drop frequently. This enables the player to actually craft and build up their existing items during the campaign.
The intent was for players to need to craft their items in order to complete the first act. The drop rate enables the player to do so and alleviates the pressure of trade feeling so much more economically feasible than crafting your own items. SSF play is certainly viable in POE1 without it, but we also have access to far more deterministic crafting methods there. If you reduce the drop rate of Exalts, you'll need to provide more of that in POE2 to compensate ... which would be a repeat of the slippery slope we saw in POE1. | |

Completely disagree.
The problem is not that exalts are too common infact I would argue the opposite. The drop rates is is almost nonexistent for a new player going through campaign. The drop rate is so low that it is practically unplayable for a large group of people with buying Currency through selling sites. They have a very serious balancing problem between drop rates, rng crafting and trade site. Mega changes need to be done but its certainly not exalt drop rate. Im completely new to the genre and accumulated around 3 exalts throught the entire campaign. Literally couldn't engage with the game or that character due to the poor drop rates. No Currency to craft and no Currency to trade, what do you do. Even to this day with over 700 hours im lucky if I have even had 5 divine drops. Not even going to acknowledge that greater or perfect jewellers orbs even exist. Complete myth of an item. Drop rates need vastly increased it the other mechanics that need ballance or completely scraped and redesigned. Last edited by outlander19900#0213 on Feb 24, 2025, 8:36:34 PM
