Announcing the First Path of Exile 2 Race Event

I was excited to hear that Path of Exile 2 is bringing back races, but the way rewards are being handled feels completely wrong. Only the top player of each class gets a reward? That’s a massive step backward compared to PoE1’s race system, which actually encouraged broad participation.

In PoE1, races were about more than just being the fastest. The reward system had:

Demigod items for top placements, so the best players still got prestigious prizes.
Point-based rewards, meaning even mid-tier and casual players could earn

By contrast, PoE2’s current approach—where only one player per class wins anything is just going to kill participation. Why even bother competing if you know you have no chance at a reward?
