Enlightenment Rune - Mitigate XP Loss on Death
" It's no different than magic find on gear, you have to sacrifice power/defense to gain an advantage somewhere else, in this case it's mitigating XP loss. Having tension on gear is good and forces players to choose wisely. Last edited by CharlesJT#7681 on Feb 19, 2025, 2:10:13 PM

" I wouldn't consider those comparable (progression vs loot rewards) but that's beside the point. First scenario with XP boost- you fight 100 half-XP monsters. Get to same XP as scenario two, but have to spend twice as much time. Second scenario with attack/defense boost- you fight 50 full-XP monsters (being generous with this). Get to same XP as scenario one, but saves you half the time. This is what I mean by calling it a shuffle instead of mitigation. Both scenarios net you the same XP, both have a risk of death that is not zero, and both scenarios you face the same XP penalty. Also one-shot/split second mystery deaths happen all the time - the following clip comes to mind, where he's clearly strong enough to steam roll the content but still got insta-killed. So I really want to emphasize that the risk of death is not zero, understanding that an instakill is probably more likely with more time. https://x.com/Raxxanterax/status/1889011450670387358 Last edited by SpankyKong#9805 on Feb 19, 2025, 3:50:24 PM

" I'm sorry, but still not convinced. Your basic premise is a 1:1 interaction, which may not be accurate. At the end of the day, this adds more options for the player to curtail lost progression upon death. Last edited by CharlesJT#7681 on Feb 19, 2025, 3:57:29 PM

" Also at the end of the day, I'm a player who stopped supporting the game over this issue & your suggestion does nothing for me either. Last edited by SpankyKong#9805 on Feb 19, 2025, 4:06:38 PM

Omen of Amelioration cuts XP loss on death from 10% to 2.5%. I'd argue it's a must use at lvl 90+ as long as you're not dying often because they hover around 100 ex on the exchange
" The required XP per level isn't the issue at 90+ because it's really not that much more XP required each level. I think 93 to 94 is still under 300 mil XP and it's 200-250 mil per level in the mid 80s. The issue is the higher level you get the less XP you gain from monsters that are increasingly lower level than you. You can crush t15s in late 70s/early 80s and get 150 mil XP/hr. Crushing those same maps in early-mid 90s you're lucky to get 30 mil XP/hr. I wouldn't mind XP loss on death if there was a way to make the monsters level with you past the current 82 cap for non-bosses so you actually get a substantial amount of XP from them |

" If you stopped supporting this game over this, no amount of suggestions would probably change your mind. I still feel many players would welcome this change. Last edited by CharlesJT#7681 on Feb 20, 2025, 7:18:14 AM
