Scammed during trade, what can I do?
Hi, today I was scammed by a player during an Astramantis trade. I sent a whisper to the player over the official trade site. He invited me to his hideout and we made the trade. It was only after the trade that I realized it was actually the Strugglescream amulet that he sold me, which looks like Astramantis and has +5 to stats as well.
As soon as the trade ended he left the hideout and ignored me. I immediately reported him. I have screenshots of the message I sent him through the trade site, our trade log and the item I recieved instead of the Astramantis. Do you think I can get my divines back? I have been saving them for the last month and I feel so bummed out. PS: He is still trying to sell the amulet on the trade site, still trying to scam people. My guess is if I reveal his username it will be redacted. Last edited by Blew2#3319 on Feb 15, 2025, 2:20:45 AM Last bumped on Feb 19, 2025, 9:42:24 PM

So scammers have no accountability? As long as you can scam someone you can get away with it? The only accountability rests on the party that is harmed? That is basically condoning scamming. If that is GGG's official stance then I no longer feel inclined to play this game.

Take note of the guy's username and name. find him on trade, put him on your ignore list(on trade site)
and move on. Always triple check big trades no matter how excited you are. I sell challenges - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3512640

you can report it, but they aren't doing anything about that stuff as of now. Trade scamming is huge, just move very slowly and if someone tries to rush you its def a scam.

This company so bad if they cannot do anything for trade scamming. Why would anyone play legit anymore if scamming is something that ggg looks trough fingers. Why they even have report button for scam... They should have auction house where you put your item and then its no longer in your position and buyer will 100% get what he was buying... Alva is really great for currency trading so they have atleast base for "auction house" or if not auction just straight buy

They did do something about it.. the game literally requires you to highlight the item to "inspect it" to make sure its what you are wanting.. so use it for its purpose and you will literally never get scammed this way.

Hate to say I got bit by this too. Relatively new and trusting player. Don't really feel that excited about spending any more money on this game. If they allow the dude to keep doing this. I reported as well, but I'm sure there's many accounts he/she can make, so nothing will happen if they are banned.
I don't get why an unidentified stellar amulet shows up in the trade site under Astramentis. Definitely 50/50 GGGs flawed trade site filter and my own naive butt. |

" No, the scammer listed an unidentified Astramentis on the site, which he probably has, otherwise he couldn't have listed it. During the trade he put another unidentified stellar amulet that ALSO gives +5 to all stats, called Strugglesceam, which looks similar to Astremantis in shape. That was what caught me off guard. I wish the game did not include 2 unique stellar amulets with +5 to all stats as an implicit. Anyway, what is done is done. |
