Trade Scam!

how are you guys getting scammed? Don't you check the items you are trading?
They do, but the scammers switch out the items a lot. This has been a problem since the start. There is a lot to go over on items, and they prey on inexperienced players. Need an auction house to stop this stuff.
I have actually gotten scammed in a very expensive trade. I got a 5 percent maximum life/10 allres Morior Invictus with 5 sockets sold as a 5 percent increased attributes/10 allres one. Weirdly, noticed it only days later after the trade was done (my Gemling stat stacker build was still kind of working, but then I noticed I am missing attributes). This cost me about 120 divines. If I remember correctly, the scammer put the correct item in, but then canceled the trade and reinitiated it. It was late at night and I was tired, I hovered over the item, but probably just read it had the 5 and the 10. I get told a lot that it was "my fault" for not double-checking, triple-checking, but I find the current system to have a severe lack of failsafes. If the trade is getting initiated through the PoE Trade website, then why not lock in the items that can be put into the transaction window when you are visiting the hideout? I get it that GGG does not want to implement a full-blown auction house and instant buyouts because it could get automated via scripts by market manipulators and then all high-end items might become absolutely unaffordable to the average player.

I have played both Diablo 2 Resurrected and Path of Exile 1 for a lot of hours, but never got scammed there, even though there were players that exhibited bad behavior. That is the reason why I was naive and not scam-aware when I started playing PoE 2 trade league. 120 divines is a lot of currency for me. I am not good with crafting for trade, trading and flipping items, so the way I made my currency is by farming the Last Flame relic, which is a long process that took me weeks and days.

This might sound pathetic, but my personal life has not been going well lately. I have been unemployed for quite a while and my mental and physical health is in quite a bad state. I use video games as a form of escapism, to not deal with real-life problems and awful people, but then I find my time and effort greatly disrespected by other people playing the game. Someone is going to probably tell me that I should just play SSF (or "touch grass") then, but let's be real. This is going to lock one out of doing endgame content like T4 arbiter or T4 simulacrum and also lock one out of certain builds.

Also I am hardly the only person who has gotten scammed specifically with Morior Invictus trading. It is an item that is both high in value for certain variants and also has descriptions that look visually similar if not read thoroughly.

This whole situation has left me so bitter that I am quitting the game in its entirety. No other game has ever disrespected my time and effort to such an extent.

If someone from GGG is reading this, would you mind acknowledging here that you are getting this feedback and this is not just falling on deaf ears?

P.S. the constant spam of real-money trade advertisements in chat is also a thing in this game, which is both annoying and demoralizing for obvious reasons.

I would also like to know if all trade transactions are getting logged somewhere by GGG so that it would be possible to find out who the scammer was? The trade was a while back and I did not write down their nickname. If not, I think the ability to see a log of all trades you've done (and with whom) would certainly be a welcome feature for a lot of players.

Very sorry to hear that. My friend got ripped off with Astramentis and was for about 120 divs as well. This game can be disrespectful to players time and especially trades.

I also dont like the end game. I end up making new characters and going through campaign and stop right around maps.
