I NEED to know why I died

Sometimes it is obvious, but other times I just have no idea why I died. That is super frustrating because if I don't know why I died, I can't know what I did wrong or how I can improve and not repeat the same mistake.

Help me out with some details. You have to have some ideas, or even seen various ways to convey this info from different games.

Welcome to the hell GGG will not fix. Past frustrating being fully capped and a white mob 1 shots you.

No lesson to learn. Nothing to fix. Just have to accept it's a mechanic that GGG does not care to fix.

If youre playing through steam you can enable screen recording, and then when you die, go back and rewatch the video in slow motion to figure out why you died, ive had to do it a few times, getting popped by a random "detonates corpses" without seeing the rares modifiers in real time
That's the reason why unfortunally you need to use blast op meta build that can kill everything off screen.

It's boring in this way? Yes.
It's safe? Yes.

Thousands of posts/comments stating a white mob 1-shots you. I have seen exactly 0 videos showing a reasonably built character with one white mob on screen, getting 1-shot.

Here's the thing about GGG "slowing down" the game. I think anyone with enough time will eventually zoom zoom through everything, no matter what they do. The "slowing down" part is on the player. If you don't know what killed you, stop launching yourself into screens full of enemies. If you are legitimately getting 1-shot by white mobs, check your defenses.

Learning the game is worth so much more than just mindlessly playing it. Learning to learn the game is the part people seem stuck on.

Amount of damage taken exceeded amount of damage you character can take.

Damage mitigation in poe2 is very simple.
You have resists against elemental/chaos damage.
You have armor against physical damage.
And obviously you have your "life pool" either in life, es or hybrid life/es form.

So how to get more tanky? Get some maximum resistances, get more life/es. Not bother much with armor as its currently more effective to stack more life than higher amounts of armor.

Plus there's some uniques that improve defenses.

And other ways to avoid damage completely, like block or evasion. More block and more evasion does make you more tanky, but it doesn't affect amount of damage your character can survive if that hit wasn't evaded or blocked.

I once died without a single mob on the screen. I killed a remaining minion bomb thrower and a second later just died, full health, 78% fire resist and no damage mod juice. Pretty sure a bomb got "stuck" to me and I didn't see it (and this is post patch to nerf them and make the bombs more visible) because of all the other graphical noise of my attacks and then the loot drop. Doesn't matter whether you know what killed you or not when shit like that can happen, and this was a map tier I'd clear map after map without even raising my heart rate, so there's no reason to suggest I am somehow undergeared. The game's balance is shit. Map mob damage spiking is god damn exponential or something. I'll have a rare mob hit me for 200 damage only for another rare same mob type and map that will hit me 10 times as hard or harder, doing over 2,000 in a single normal attack. It's no god damn wonder people play screen nuker builds.
Unfortunately, GGG will likely never implement this even though it is probably the single most requested and necessary thing that the game is missing (behind AH maybe).
how did you people right eight books in five seconds of this psot coming up nerds
