When will you do something about bots?

i think adding extra layer to bot ban would be right before new patch, league. so by the time if bots envolve or find any backdoor's it takes time,so we could all enjoy fresh economy.but my honest opinion is AH would remove majority bots if ingame trade would be monitored. aswell RMT.

At the moment i dont think there is any reason to do somethign agaisnt bots.

For several reasons.

First one it creates work which cna be used elswewhere. Its early access. Bots are a non issue right now.

Second if you do something against bots the Cat and Mouse game starts. What i mean by that is if you ban Bots then the Botmakers find ways to trick the detection.

One example is from Old Times WoW. The first bots bakc then were running in a straight line. So what did the devs do. Put an obstacle in the way so bots stop there and you can ban them.

But later the Bots learned to run around Obstacles.

And the devs had to find new ways for detection.

The same would happen in Path of Exile if you start going against bots now. What you do is getting the System ready for launch and then get rid of all bots

So nice to ‘meet’ a fellow oldie.
You are so right and it’s why Blizzard added ‘Warden’ and then ‘Guardian’ (might have those wrong way around it’s been so long) code to WoW to just detect inhuman behaviour and just ban it after Blizzard human verification.

GGG (Chris was so concerned about this) have similar but far weaker code which is why data is double dipped between client and sever and caused lag before our hardware and internet connections could keep up.
Now they should just have as I said right before your post imo.
