A Message to Path of Exile 1 Players

I liked PoE1 and still want to play it. I wouldn't have even cared if PoE2 wasn't even announced to this day. I'd be happy trucking along in PoE1 without a care in the world. Instead, I feel robbed of 51 bucks you said I wouldn't have to spend to play a new, worse game that's making the old game get worse (or at the very least, neglected).

I do really understand your point. You're not alone.

i know they can do it. just give them time.

PoE1 has an old engine.

Its not normal to keep the old game alive.

That's a perfect game will alot of fans, and ggg just shit to all of them

Doesnt matter it is normal or not, it was clearly stated that poe2 will not inferfear POE, and great manager jonathan made a video only after a post on reddit

lol

great job
ur doing well
Next news 1 year later: POE1 cancelled in favor of POE2.
Is it a good time to ask for PoE1 offline?
Naive me used to think I could rotate between PoE1 new league for a couple months, PoE2 new league for a couple months, and basically also grow with PoE2 as I did with PoE1.

Shame though, instead you decided to not only force your audience into an incomplete game with near to no endgame to really continue playing while also killing the original product because you too know deep down PoE2 is incomplete, and a new league for PoE1 will kill already slowly dropping 160K players PoE2 has.

Not a financially smart move for you all, I hope this new F2P model WITHOUT consistent release schedule comes with Free-to-Develop benefits as well.
This is really unfortunate and IMHO GGG is doing a disservice to the POE community. POE2 literally crashes MY ENTIRE COMPUTER and is unplayable. Numerous posts about how unstable POE2 is...Time for a new game...very disappointed.
For real. i realy dont like what u doin to this game! pls stop!!!

I think that was what most of us hoped would happen, including me. Well, it was also what was promised :D
So it's incompetence and not purposeful to just try to push everyone into your Alpha testing which people have to pay to join? Idk if this is better or worse. Either way not having an expansion ready for PoE1 has probably killed it. Well done.
GGG had a plan and they communicated it (both poe and poe2 would get roughly development at same time next to each other).

They found out it looked like it wouldnt be possible to keep that plan. Instead of communicating this already in December they held on to hope that they would be able to find a solution.

Instead it took to end of january before they announced that their original plan was too ambitious for their avaible context.

I am personally ok with delays like this. Having two projects going on at the same time without doubling staff is tricky and mostly not goin according to plans.

I would have preferred communication bout what the trajectory looked like already in December. It wouldnt have changed anything, but it would have given GGG extra points for transparency and communication.

It is as it is.

Do I think they "shit" on poe? No, not one bit. They will do the best they are able to to keep both games going. I anticiapte this both beacuse I percieve them as genuinely invested in it and also because it doesnt make economical sense to drop poe and only focus on poe2 for ever.

This is indeed hard news for those that primarily play poe and are used to and looking forward to new leagues once in a while. For some thins will be "the last straw". For most, most likely, it will not.

Poe continues to be a very good game. There's been an onogin commentary every league that "this will be the last, the game will die" and so on. But its still here.

And everything points to it still being here also in the future.
