A Message to Path of Exile 1 Players

so many crybabies here its wild
To GGG,

As a paying customer this makes me feel like shit.
I supported poe 1 with my time and my wallet. You sold us an update that turned into a sequel that no one asked for that solved 0 of the problems of you set out to solve (poe 2 is -5 years of progress with poe 1 because it was developed in a silo) and now have essentially killed the original game you promised to support and continue to update (again the game all of us have supported with our time and our wallets). I understand that from a financial prospective this makes sense (poe 2 is crushing poe1) however, from the consumer prospective this feels like shit.
Taking ownership, explaining a path going forward and showing what can be done in the future to prevent such situations.

Looks like how you'd want to handle this.
I can respect this response.
GGG,

You wouldn't of been able to make POE II without the support of the playerbase of POE I. In return you lie about POE 1 and stop work on it? I know II is making you alot of money but maybe not forget about the playerbase that got you here heh?

Just glad I didn't buy a supporter pack. I just hope in 2 months there will not be another heart felt message from Jonathan stating you guys just don't have the manpower to support POE 1 anymore and won't be producing any more leagues. I find it a little unbelievable that you can't look at what you need to do and give a timeline, like 3 months. The lack of actual facts in this transparency is a little worrisome GGG

Good lord, I like never post here but I've loved GGG and what they do. You guys are all being drama queens, it's not a big deal if you have to wait a month or two. Heck, even if you have to wait for a couple months more, it's fine. Just... play PoE 2 for a bit? Make an SSF character, play another game, etc etc. There are so many options for you all to choose.

Thank you Jonathan for making this video and taking the time, I totally understand where you're coming from and what you're saying. Hopefully things calm down soon and you guys are able to balance resources appropriately. Hope the next poe 1 and poe 2 leagues are awesome.

Also, for people's doom and gloom, LOL... even if he had said until 1.0 I wouldn't have been upset at all, and tbh that's probably what they should do effectively make sure poe 2 is an amazing release. Maybe throwing some events on poe 1 would be cool or something, but no big release or anything like that. At worst, that'd be like... 6-12months... So, not that bad. Maybe I'm just different who knows. Thank you GGG for all the hard work and dedication <3
I guess now that the PoE2 money is rolling in, the people who have supported the game for over a decade are chop liver. Absolutely ridiculous that the game we've supported for years is getting thrown to the wayside for a beta test. A really sad state of affairs.
an amazing game died for a shitty shiny one
Devastating news. I'm not enjoying poe 2 and all I want is new content for poe 1.Maybe it's time for Tencent to consider handing poe 1 over to a new developer so GGG can focus on poe 2 and those of us who prefer poe 1 can still get new content.
"
Fuck this. I will not be buying any supporter packs for the next few years as repayment for letting POE1 suffer as long as it has. Step on a lego barefoot and fuck you as well.

Literal man baby.

POE 2 is very different than POE 1, I prefer the systems in POE 1. So this is very disappointing.

It seems like you are deciding to let POE 1 die so you can profit off POE 2 more. I do get it though, a company needs to profit and POE 2 EA probably brought in quite a bit.

However, could I suggest you decide to release an offline solo client of POE 1 instead of just letting it disappear in the near future? maybe with options to change leagues? Or pick a patch/league where self crafting was very solid as it will be perma-SSF essentially. I would pay good money for that.

I just don't want to lose the game I've loved for 10 years. POE 2 is not a replacement.
