Reaching my breaking point - Loot and rewards

Like half of this problem would be fixed with purple omens being more common honestly. That said, I'm sure the remaining campaign acts/future content will have some more ways of quasi-deterministic crafting.

If I had to propose a solution I'd say make purple omens as common as let's say Omen of Resurgence temporarily, you can always reduce the drop rate in the future.
It would feel good for regular players to be able to fix those bricked drops.

+1 to OP, its the reason why i have not touched this game for weeks now.

What worries me the most is that a lot of the current problems with crafting cant be attributed to "its early access, just wait", but are actual design decisions that are, in my opinion, fundamentally flawed.

It does seem that way as in their last interview they even said they like the slot machine design.

That and also just a bench where you can sit and craft without tediously clicking different windows and currency over and over. its an actual pain crafting on controller.

Like a window with options that consume the corresponding currency

It's a interesting problem.

It's just way too restrictive with crafting.
Many affixes are required on items.

I play in trade league so i could play with a friend, but I play SSF.
I don't trade.

Im stuck at 78-80 someplace in there.
I can't upgrade ANYTHING.
I have not upgraded anything in over 120 hours of playing.

I have had the same weapon for a month.
Same rings...

And if you gave me the option to pick any item in the game.
I would have no idea what to pick to make it work with what i have.

Im scared to get an item at this point, cause it will cause me to shuffle my entire gear set.

I can't change my gear cause it will break my resists.
I can't put resists on anything.
Im locked!!

The game should be made for SSF.
Trade is easy mode.
Until they do that, they are always going to only appeal to wall street gamers
and PoE2 will shrink down to PoE1 levels of engagement.

For having such crap drops there should be WAY more quality of life.

1) I can identify items ON THE GROUND
2) I can craft items ON THE GROUND ( so i can leave 99% of them there)
3) The maps are all kept.... IN THE MAP DEVICE and i can pick them from there.
4) Crafting materials that can upgrade maps are also shown ... IN THE MAP DEVICE
5) I can break down items in the field ...

Do all that and yeah perhaps I can slog it with crap loot and no progression, but combined with the "friction" of the game ..

Its going to be a tough sell soon for SSF
and honestly they are your long term players..
im too sour to post

It's a game based around trade, they've said it a million times, everything else is just challenge mode.

You're allowed not to like that, of course, but if it hasn't changed in over a decade, I wouldn't hold your breath.

Lots of people, especially SSF players, don't seem to grasp that the game is designed specifically and INTENTIONALLY (it's not a mistake) around trading. That is the core fundamental cornerstone of POE.

It's unfortunate for SSF players but they know what they're getting into

Ohh no i grasp it.

Its just stupid.

I don't want to alienate trade loving people.

But the same people who "Need it Now!"
Play trade. And for the most part

Play a character trade it up
make cash
play the build of the month ...
make cash
play the second build of the month
quit.
elapsed time
6 days.
So why does crafting even exist? If you have a mechanic in the game it should at least have some value added, not just a source of rage quitting and frustration.
I do concure the base drop rate and quality of drop with no MF and fully done atlas is low as hell

yet the scaling of ennemies is very strong so if you rapidly dont get weapons with +150% +extra damages you will tickle even white mob.

Except such modifier are super rare

Play a shitty map on POE1 get decent/good gear with high stats that can allow me to do better content or clean faster to start the ball rolling.

Play POE2 t15-16 fully juiced delirium infused map on irrradiated corrupted boss map
Doesnt even get one good item... or a decents ones that would sells for a couple of exalted orb to start trading.

It's so stupid that you can do the highest lvl (82) map and get worse rewards than doing low lvl maps with better rarity.
